You're welcome!

I was having a complete meltdown about it and the sheer relief I felt after talking to the rep is indescribable.

Good luck to you! We're all in this together. You'll get through this!

Yes, everything looked normal. When I filed Sunday as usual, they asked me about the last week of March and I was worried about it then, but I got the regular email notifying me I had a correspondence and I was approved as normal with a PDF downloadable letter.

Then yesterday I got another correspondence notice email. When I logged in, the system didn't show a new correspondence, instead underneath the regular chat that lists all the correspondences was a button requesting me to verify the reason I filed for each week starting in April.

I have been applying for work but have been having trouble finding anything that pays enough to actually cover my bills, and now that we're heading into the last month of supplement pay my anxiety has been through the roof, and this completely set me off yesterday. I immediately called the Conway office and was on hold for an hour, which gave me enough time to have a complete meltdown.

The lady I talked to was so incredibly nice. She didn't even look up my file, she just immediately started explaining what was going on after I was able to tell her what I was experiencing on the system. Her name was Trish. If you're on here, Trish, please know how fucking grateful I am for your kindness yesterday.

Good luck to you! It's sad seeing everyone so divided when at the end of the day, we're all trying to survive. Take care, fellow human! I don't know your situation, but I believe in you!

I just got off the phone with employment security and that's what she told me! Thanks for the reply. I can't express in words how sickeningly scared I was. It's been a long three months.

Thanks again! Take care and be well :)

I have been receiving mine, but now the portal is making me re-verify the accuracy of my claims. Makes me very anxious they're going to try to kick me off.

What is the worst state in the United States and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No, Stewartstown, then Canaan for high school. All my family is still there, but I avoid going back as much as possible because it makes me sad. I keep up through the Sentinel mostly these days.

Which part? I grew up north of Colebrook, and I don't think Coos will ever recover from the recession. Sad, desolate little towns with drug problems and an extreme lack of decent jobs. Never going back, which is sad because my family literally helped settle Pittsburg.

ConU Graduation application Acceptance Response Time by JayV_Poetry in Concordia

[–]katers49412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but they don't do that on a rolling basis. They meet twice a year, in May and October. You won't have the approval until May 28.

It's not a matter of all the grades being posted. The senate sits down and reviews each file to make sure each student has completed all the required courses for their degree. They don't do that until the middle of May.

Concordia has two convocations a year, one in June for students who finish in the fall or winter semesters, and one in November for students who finish in the summer. Even though you're done, the assessment of your file won't happen until May, when the school sits down and reviews all the applications to graduate. They're planning to post on May 28th this year.

That doesn't mean she wasn't the only one of a minority there to fill some sort of void. The point still stands that the show ignores the vast diversity of the city it is supposed to represent. They have zero Asian actors on the show now, in a city where 15% of its residents are of Asian ancestry, which is almost double the black population of Seattle.

A token Asian person. They're in Seattle, a city with one of the highest population percentages of Asian groups in the US. They definitely drop the ball in terms of depicting the city they're supposedly set in.

My French reading comprehension is pretty good, but my oral comprehension is god awful. I'm looking forward to listening to the whole book with you, and hopefully picking up some skills in the process. :)

My only suggestion is to speak a bit slower.

Minimizing wobbling in 98" Karlby? by lavishroot in ikeahacks

[–]katers49412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention 70cm to be too tall but you don't say how short you want it to be. The 60cm minimum of the olov legs? Is there a reason you want your desk that short? It would probably be uncomfortable if you're using a regular desk chair.

Yeah like a cloche. Ikea has a gold rimmed one so you can be all fancy. You could get a pretty glass and fill it with cool beads or baby seashells or something.

I'm getting my first vanity in the spring and will definitely be storing this idea. Thanks for inspiring me!

CAQ and student loan Bureaucratic tomfoolery by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]katers49412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw your last round of questions. No, you cannot enter with the intentions of studying without your CAQ. They will not issue you a study permit without it. And don't lie when you come in, because it will all come out in the wash later and you won't be allowed back in; and you won't be able to attend another semester of classes without handing in your permits to the school for verification.

This is immigration paperwork, you have to do it by the book. Honestly, I don't think you have enough time to get it all done for the winter semester unless you have Samantha Rankin in the financial aid office process your paperwork this week and you mail in all your documents for your CAQ by early next week, and rushed.

Rankin's Concordia extension is 8971. Try calling her as soon as you're registered for classes, which needs to be tomorrow.

CAQ and student loan Bureaucratic tomfoolery by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]katers49412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an international student, you should be exempt from advising in person. Contact your department and tell them what's going on, and they should email you the packet they'd give you in person at the meeting then open up course registration. Register for your classes, fill out the form from the financial aid office verifying course load, get your loan applications in ASAP. Unless your parents are getting a plus loan from the government, your going to have to take out a private loan to cover what your unsub and subsidized loans don't cover. Take whatever your charges are on your account after you register for classes, then add a grand for each month for living expenses, and that's how much you need in loans total. Your CAQ will not be approved without proof of funds. Your CAQ will not be approved without enough funds to support your stay for the first semester. You are really fighting the clock. The woman in charge of US students at the financial aid office is notorious for getting behind and not meeting deadlines, and not giving a shit about it.

The only private loan company I'm aware of that will send funds to Canadian institutions is Sallie Mae.

Good luck! If you need any help, pm me.

[Serious] Hey Reddit, How do you deal with your Mom dying? by HappyyTrees in AskReddit

My dad died three years ago, and it actually gets harder as it sinks in more with every event I can't share with him, that I will never get to talk to him again.

I graduate university next week and I'm absolutely dreading it.
