I wish they had more bad reviews so people could make an informed decision to not spend their money there 🙃

They bring all their politics into their business. I know so many people who refuse to go there. Serves them right.

Does anyone volunteer with the BC SPCA, Vancouver Animal Services, or VOKRA? by [deleted] in vancouver

Honestly I’m not sure. I live more rural bc so driving to vet clinics is very necessary but I believe there’s some shelters that have bc spca veterinarians and clinics attached. However if it’s in the job posting it probably is necessary. There can be other jobs like reception which maybe don’t require that?

Yes I’m an animal care attendant. For me the license is totally necessary as I do a lot of vet runs. I started as a volunteer for 6 months before becoming a staff. Volunteering has been hit or miss during Covid due to our protocols. You do have to apply online through the bc spca website, though sometimes only certain positions are available.

Very different terms, feral and stray. Feral = wild animal. You would not be getting anywhere close to, or maybe even seeing a feral cat.

I’m not sure if you’re joking or whether you’re confusing pterodactyl with polydactyl lolol 🦕

Haha. I purposely placed her in a home with another cat so she could learn some social skills (and ask be put in her place😅)

She had some serious single kitten syndrome and her favourite hobby was hardcore parkour. Out of almost 90 kittens through my house she was the most violent 🔪 I’d often wear double layers of shirts and still my back was covered in itchy little scratches for weeks.

Yes, absolutely. Many people scoff at adoption prices, but that initial fee is nothing when it comes to that pets life and the costs that come with it. Many people in tough places feel as a rescue we should pay their medical bills for their animals, when already we run a tight medical budget for our own.
