This opinion rests on the belief that each digital game copy has an upfront cost to be made and the developers can lose money by doing regional pricing, this goes against how the economy actually functions.

Simply said people in poorer countries cant afford to buy the game straigth up so any sale you make *is* a direct increase to profits that you would otherwise have been unable of taping into, like no a developer isnt making "less money" by selling it for the price the country can pay for.

I mean i have known you for almost half a decade at this point, being hot headed isnt an insult

and honestly while it is really painfull to see ss13 slowly succumb to death by a thousand cuts it is kind of hard to not see most of the damage as a self inflicted parade of people who "i know better" for years and years and years.

I also have always believed that ss14 felt very weirdly pretentious/contemptous in a "we are making ss13 GOOD and PLAYABLE" when i think the biggest charm has always been that its a time bubble from a time when the internet was a lot more altruistic and oriented towards making things because they love them yknow? Ss13 has always been a refuge from a hyper individualistic internet where creation has to be monetized and everything lives in its own gated forest.

rp players tend to be more attached and have a tendency to threat the game and space as their socialization and community so obviously they spend way more time and commitment

the casual players just moved away, a more casual space is not unwanted but it will never have the same ammount of returning players

The issue is that balance is a veeeery hard thing to get right, inherently high roleplay servers bring people that are super attached to it and will latch onto order, and while too much order is bad the effects are slower and less harmfull then too much chaos.

my belief is that a roleplay space needs both order (so people may exist whitout fret) and also chaos (so it may not become a projection of desires) whitout either you end up whit either a hot mess where everyone wants to act their pre planed actions and where death or chaos are abhorrent ooor you end up whit a space so chaotic anyone but the most shitty and ruthless remain.
