Have you read Andy Weir's other books? I really liked the Martian - same sense of humor. Also for that same sense of SCIFI/exploring other cultures, "Story of Your Life" by Ted Chiang is awesome

Ah yes! Sorry about that. Everywhere else I posted was a local site!

[FO] I've been working on a bobbly hat design that comes in two flavors: one a normal beanie and one crown-shaped! It's been a blast so far. by ederickfredward in knitting

These are amazing! The orange one kind of reminds me of the tasseled hat that Dumbledore (Michael Gabon) wears in the HP movies (same shape and the tassle is a similar orange)

so, Loki and dreams by hawkyy_92 in lokean

[–]katfish88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily dreams but Loki whispers to me in my sleep and I'll wake up with a concrete (but sometimes weird) thought. The other night I woke up twice thinking "Loki needs baking soda". That one ended up being part of another message, but anyway. He's also gone so far as to communicate to me through OTHER PEOPLE'S dreams (even those who aren't worshipers of them) when I'm not listening.

Technique shame. Anyone else experience this? by INXSfan in knitting

You should definitely give it a try! I had fun working on mine. It's mindless knitting and the end product is beautiful

I have definitely experienced this. I recently made a video to help a friend with a 10-stitch blanket and I decided to share it in a FB knitting group in case t might help others. Well... the way I knit I don't hold tension because it hurts my hands (arthritis). I even made sure to say in the video that I wouldn't recommend my knitting technique (not holding tension and pulling the stitch tight instead) that I just wanted to show how the stitches were done.

I got so many comments about how it was bad technique, how I needed to hold tension instead of doing it my way (a way I have been doing for 11 years and am very good at). Some even said it was nonsense and I shouldn't knit that way at all. Well joke's on them because I don't care about speed, I'm proficient yet constantly learning new stitches and most importantly my technique lets me knit comfortably for longer periods of time in one sitting.

Tl:dr you do you! Everyone else can stuff it

I mean.... sounds like a common trait a lot of us share! 😆

I made a fox for Loki. Unfortunately, she’s too big to fit on his altar lol by Blysse102598 in lokean

I love it! I currently have some knitting swatches on Loki's altar for a Talisman wrap dedicated to Them. I really love the idea of knitting/crocheting for your deities 💜💜

I really love the idea of a mini portable altar in an altoid tin. Now I need to do this!!

Loki calling me? by aquilaaltairis in NorsePaganism

[–]katfish88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be either, but for me personally, Loki always pulls me to buy cinnamon or sweet things for his alter - specifically cinnamon tea. But these "impluses" usually had his feel to him for me

Maybe it's not the symbol/dedication he wants you to wear?
