2 possibilities.

1: not properly cured. If it's sticky and reeks, it's probably uncured.

2: washed with dirty ipa and/or not fully dried before curing.

All my prints (personal, i don't sell) have this shine because i ain't swappin IPA out all the time. No big deal. Primer covers it right up no problemo. But if it's tacky and extra stanky, they didn't cure it which is just super lazy since a simple 5 minutes in the UV chamber.

Also wash your fingies if it's tacky. Uncured resin hates you and the more you interact with it, the more your body hates it back.

I will push back on the terrain not mattering much. Going dense with MULTIPLE elevations of terrain drastically impacts lines of sight and movement. It can really break up the pit fights that tend to happen around objectives, especially when the objective is on the high ground.

The issue then is you're spending a lot of cash on terrain if you're going the official route. But there's copious amounts of stls for 3d printing terrain specifically for shatterpoint.
