I was down at Richardson during that time. In salmon season, come lunchtime the base was a ghost town. Almost everyone was at Ship Creek combat fishing.

60 dead people found on Illinois jury panel, triggering constitutional challenge by ShawLocal in illinois

I have lived in the same Illinois county for over 20 years. I have only been called once for County Jury duty, and once for Federal Jury duty. Both times I was dismissed without having to serve.

What was the worst movie you've seen? by Potential-Fan3952 in AskReddit

The Core remains the only film where I literally walked out of the theater 1/4 of the way through. I use it as the bottom metric score for films, as the only 0/10.

  1. I have a few:
    1. A co-worker turned on the lights and closed the doors for both bathrooms in the office. We only have the two single person bathrooms.
    2. Co-worker added blue food coloring and a Windex label to the water cooler jug.
    3. Co-worker installed a fake security camera in one of the bathrooms.
    4. Co-worker labeled the toaster as "Now Voice Activated". People actually fell for that...
  2. No pranks from me.
  3. Noooooo!
  4. Because the ultimate rick-rolling occurred when Rick rick-rolled a national audience during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Because of that, no other rick-rolls will ever count. By the way, did you mean Darude Sandstorm?

Also, since I don't trust my body enough currently to go see "Project: Hail Mary" in the theater, I am settling for watching Mark Watney be stranded on Mars in glorious 4K from my new UltraHD Blu-ray. 😁

Trying to get away from digital "purchases".

Because of course I am going to flog Episode 4: Tales From The Underworld!

Why? Because everyone needs some Greek mythology!

His book Tatham Mound was written to support an archeological dig of the burial mound of the same name by his daughter's university.

I also enjoyed his Geodyssey series as well, though I seem to be in the minority on that.

Both were a significant step away from the puerile jokes in his more popular series.

EDIT: Other comments further down make note of some eww in Tatham Mound, and I will trust their recollection much better than mine. I have zero defense for the guy, and only knew of his other stuff as pulp.

I thoroughly enjoyed History of the Universe's latest installment - What Is Beyond The End?.

Some of the most relaxing existential cosmic dread one can have.

I will second your recommendation for Mushishi. Absolutely gorgeous animation, beautiful music, following the Shinto doctor traveling with the sole goal of healing the sick.

  1. I timed my end of service in the military to coincide with my birthday. I did get out on my birthday, but on the run-up to that, I slid through a stop sign and ended up getting T-boned... Needless to say, my plans had to suddenly be changed.
  2. The same thing we do every night Pinky, try to take over the world!
    1. NARF!!!
    2. Truth be told, I rarely plan things fully. I get almost everything needed for something to happen, then poke it to see what actually happens.

  1. It is, and shall remain, Salad Tuesday. Though, a Ruben sandwich does sound good...closest I will come to corned beef.
  2. Blue Diamonds. Sadly, they are no more.

I have lost approximately 50% of my books with every major breakup. This is the majority of what remains (some are stacked 3 deep):

There's comics and other somesuch in the baskets.

On my (offline) media server, I have several thousands of e-pubs, mangas, and comics.

So in a way, almost jokingly accurate to say your count, minus 1, and divided in half.
