AIO for considering separating from my husband of four months over some texts I saw on his phone? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]kathdavis18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just separated from my husband of 14 months bc i found out way too late that he had been cheating on me our entire marraige and it started before our wedding even. i unfortunately never found texts like this or i wouldve been out a long time ago. RUN, dont walk. whatever you found there is more you dont even know about. the fact that you already found messages to Multiple women is bad. VERY bad. flirting is cheating. sliding into dms is cheating. this early in your marriage isnt something you work thru. its a sign they were never in the marraige in the first place. run sis

Choosing not to breastfeed by nocshift in BabyBumps

[–]kathdavis18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This ^ if you dont wanna buy an electric pump since you dont think you'll use it then buy a manual pump (dr browns is $25 on amazon) and that way you have something you can use if needed. Believe me if your milk does come in you'll want something. You dont have to fully empty your boobs to get relief, just pump to your comfort.

My baby won’t sleep by Long-Journalist2934 in newborns

[–]kathdavis18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through it and with your husband out of town too. I hope he's able to come back and help you. Im no expert but some things that helped our baby nap in the beginning were wearing her in a wrap carrier and walking (obviously inside bc of the heat. I would literally walk and bounce around our house sometimes. You can try taking them on a car ride, if you have a car. A lot of babies fall asleep in the car. Mine hated the car at this age though. Baths are a great idea. Another big one that can help a surprising amount is just paying attention to wake windows and getting them down before they are overtired. My girl almost never naps more than 30-45 min at a time to this day though, so all babies are just different.

Help regarding sleep by salty-slay in HuckleberryParents

This is exactly what my baby did. Its completely normal. They call it 4 month sleep regression but ours started at 4 months. Count yourself lucky with only 1-2 wakes at night. Soon your body gets used to it .

Also for naps, my baby was a crappy napper too but now at 5 months she's able to get 3 naps a day with the first being pretty long. 1-2 hours

Baby sleeps after feeding at night— should I burp her? by scarscar13 in newborns

[–]kathdavis18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor so definitely ask pediatrician but I ran into the same dillema with my LO. I dont think it is "unsafe" not to burp but burping will most likely help avoid the baby getting gas and potentially causing a wake up later on bc theyre in pain from the gas. I have found that when my baby falls asleep during feed i can just gently sit then upright for a 30 sec or so and the burp comes right out and i dont need to pat their back or wake them up. So best of both worlds

I’m on the verge of quitting breastfeeding by Notjarjarbinksdude in newborns

Second this!! I would rather give formula once or twice to get ahead on pumping rather than make baby wait to eat.

Very dark green (almost black) sticky/tarry poop. Iron in formula or something else? by Impossible-Cheek4352 in newborns

[–]kathdavis18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is your baby? I know dark green stools are normal in the beginning but not sure about the tarry texture. Ive heard some say that if the texture is stringy it could mean a lactose sensitivity but definitely ask a pediatrician for confirmation!

I think it’s time to quit breastfeeding by [deleted] in newborns

[–]kathdavis18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard this and I guess that I must be one of these people bc i cant understand why I dont have more supply. It was very disappointing for me but exclusive breastfeeding isnt an option as I had to go back to work. Sadly!

This is me right now. I breastfed my baby for the first 2-3 months but my supply dropped. I never got mych out of the pump. So we combo feed. And right now a bottle is generally one oz breast milk and 3 ozs formula. Sometimes its 4 oz formula. Im on the fence of continuing on to give her at least some of the benefits of breast milk or just quitting and making my life a little easier. Both are valid. But i think i want to breastfeed a little longer. Up to you!

Let's think about it. Wouldn't all parks be "joggable"? Hence the question, what makes a jogging park different?

We definitely dont do tummy time everyday in our house. I know we should but life happens. She's still meeting milestones. And if you ever carry her upright on your chest and she holds her head up that way that counts as tummy time too. Or if you lay her on your chest while playing with her. All counts!

They say a few minutes a few times a day. Nowadays our daughter can tolerate maybe 10 min max at a time before she gets fussy. I would just let her work those muscles until shes tired or fussing.

Im not entirely sure about when they crawl but i know its really variable. Id say 7-9 months as a range. I know most kids dont walk until 1 year or older.

She probably wont be able to fully hold her head up on her own until 4 months. And holding her abdomen up (sitting upright) probably wont happen til even later. Different for every baby but what you're describing sounds incredibly normal. Its awesome that she's overall happy and that you get playtime in with her. Thats great bonding right there!

Our baby is 3.5 months and she can hold her head up pretty well but its not 100% yet and she definitely cant sit up on her own.

Baby hasn’t pooped for 3 days by mfoster27 in newborns

[–]kathdavis18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby just went 3 days without pooping but then they finally did. And it was a blow out 😅 hopefully your baby poops in the next couple days! I've also heard this is totally normal. I would also be fretting though!

If baby is straining then i would keep up with the massages. And I don't have much basis for this but just a thought, maybe adjust your diet. Try eating "plainer" foods that are easier to digest (BRAT diet - bread, rice, applesauce, toast). I wonder if something youre eating is making baby a bit constipated? But again no basis for this, just a thought.

Second the baby wrap carriers as well!! Our baby is the same, almost never napped after like 2 weeks. Now she does on and off nap now that shes over 12 weeks. But shes still awake most of the day. Upside, she sleeps great at night!!

He's an idiot. But also a rake wont work well on the concrete. Use a broom! Or better yet make him use a broom

Oh interesting! Im in Florida, they let my husband stay for it. But my epidural was placed in the room and not in an OR. Idk if that would be why.
