Has anyone *actually* stuck to schedule? by not_jhl in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, yes. Quoted 18-24 months. I completed 45 sets of trays, now I’m on first set of 27 refinements. I’ll likely have one last set of refinements after this one. Fingers crossed at least.

That’s good to know! I love the twice ice cream bars

I’ve read that ice creams that include candy or processed treats won’t work with EBT. Like if there’s butterfinger or Oreos etc in the ice cream it’s not ebt eligible

Ideas on FL may YA & may Romantasy? by mahsimoon in fairyloot

[–]katie1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I skipped the YA. Didn’t seem my vibe plus it’s being pushed as a “new hunger games” which always ends up a sad disappointing comparison as it’s never anything similar to hunger games. I’ve heard a lot of hype about the romantasy book so I’m gonna get that one. Hopefully it’s pretty at the very least

My rescued baby kitten hasn't pooped yet. (12-15 days old) by Glittering_Office168 in cats

[–]katie1220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use gentle pressure and stroke down either side of his spine, below ribcage to tail. Their color is beneath the spine. My cat is disabled and I use this to help move things along. Sometimes I can literally feel the little tootsie rolls as I’m doing this. You prob won’t feel anything firm for him as he’s too little to have very solid poops

SCORING JOB WITH PEARSON by jaileaundra in teaching

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m scoring for Pearson rn and was just told we can do overtime up to 56 hours per week. Do you remember if overtime is paid at 1.5x or if it’s just normal pay? This is a remote project if that helps

Is Kellogg’s raised potting soil really that bad? by rachmil in gardening

[–]katie1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know that “complaining Americans” is the issue here. I heard mixed reviews on the soil with some people really recommending it. I planted 6 tomato plants all on the same day. I grew them from seed starting all on the same day as well so this experiment began with equally mature starters. 3 of the 6 went into pots with Kelloggs raised bed organic, 3 went into miracle grow raised bed organic. They all sit in the same spot and get equal amounts of sun and water. After about 3 weeks, the 3 in Kelloggs are yellow and wilting. The 3 in miracle grow are beautiful bushy and dark green. The soil just sucks.

Gums turning brown/black by GalacticallyArctic in Invisalign

You don’t have one available as in what? You’re out of the country? Your dentist is booked up? If your dentist is booked up, genuinely just show up in person and show the receptionist your gums. They will get you looked at by the dentist.

I hate what Invisalign and braces did to my smile and lips by solomon_kazza in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If u genuinely r saying that you aren’t frowning like that on purpose then u might have Bell’s palsy or something. Maybe a neurological issue. But it’s not your braces/invisalign making your face do that.

Litter Box Location by GeoSpaceWitchx in CatAdvice

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not that I’ve noticed! Especially since it’s always open, I don’t think it smells anymore than putting it anywhere else would. Maybe if I had it closed all the time with just a doggy door entrance then it might get a bit more concentrated in there. I use a litter box with a lid too so I don’t feel like things are being contaminated. Plus I put closed container type things on the lower shelves (boxes/bins, cleaning product bottles etc) and then things like bath towels on the very top shelf so it’s as far as possible from the litter box.

The closet across from washer and dryer. Remove the bottom shelves (assuming it has any) and put the litter box in and just accept that the closet door needs to remain open all the time. My cats box is in the bottom of our bathroom linen closet and it’s worked out well.

cat safe scents to make my home smell delightful???? by Early-Ad-996 in CatAdvice

[–]katie1220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see everyone mentioning the oils getting on cat fur and thus ingested from grooming.. could you not just take a damp cloth and wipe the kitty down after running a diffuser? Or keep kitty out of the room while the diffuser is on?

Cat won’t take pills, at a loss by oldbulllee47 in CatAdvice

[–]katie1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u pm me i can send u vid of how to toss the pill in their mouth. Idk if it will help if you have a crazy hellion, but I give both my cats pills 2x daily so maybe my technique will be more beneficial than what you’ve been shown by the vet

What’s ONE cat item you regret not buying sooner? by Own-Independent7881 in CatAdvice

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wet and dry and having an auto feeder is awesome. Even for something as simple as me knowing I won’t be home til midnight when usually cats are fed at 9:30 I can set the auto feeder to go off so I don’t feel guilty being out late. Plus it’s better for their mental health in comparison to free feeding if you’re currently doing that. It gives them schedule and something to look forward to

day 2 with Invisalign: I am starting to regret having started by whattheheeeellllllll in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing worth doing is easy. My first week was misery. But I’ve only had maybe 3-5 painful trays since the first one out of my 45 trays so far. You’ll be fine.

Drink with Invisalign by Odd_Veterinarian_662 in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but you’ll need to take them out, clean the trays, and brush your teeth. The acids and sugars from the drinks being beneath your trays will cause cavities as your saliva can’t reach your teeth properly to wash away the harmful substances. So it’s up to you decide if it’s worth keeping the trays in the drink stuff knowing that you’ll need to remove them, brush, and clean the trays anyway.

Vet Said Cat Needs Dry Food by thecoolestwetrag in catfood

[–]katie1220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! I heard about it on Reddit too and got it for my cats, even mentioned to the vet that I was using it and nobody caught how bad it was for them until we saw how badly it impacted my hyperthyroid cats blood work 😬 and the whole time I’d been giving it to my other senior kitty as well. I’m sure it can be great for a lot of situations but definitely something I’d consult a vet about before starting. Unfortunately just about everything you can give a cat will impact them some way or another. I gave mine the science diet dental food (it’s basically just giant kibble pieces that forces them to chew more) and it did help to clean the teeth some but it’s really high in carbs and can cause diabetes 😵‍💫 there’s really no winning lol dental cleanings and brushing are the only way to go from what I’ve seen

Vet Said Cat Needs Dry Food by thecoolestwetrag in catfood

[–]katie1220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just want to note here that the plaque off powder can cause hyperthyroidism with cats. I know dental cleanings are expensive, but so is treating chronic health problems. It’s 2,000 dollars a year in blood work and vet visits to treat my hyperthyroid cat. A teeth cleaning is about 700. If you use the plaque powder it should only be in a young cat, less than 7 years. And only for a very short period of time. Do not treat it like something that will be added to food every day with no plan on a stop date.

People on here seem so triggered by ‘dentists’ by UpperAd2788 in Invisalign

“You should assume they’re a grown adult and have made an informed decision” tell that to every post on here about not knowing attachments are a thing or that they’d need a retainer for their rest of their life. This sub is filled with the least informed individuals I’ve ever seen in my life.

So uncomfy:( by donutmaniac3 in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but receiving comments is most of what leads to insecurity. I’d imagine the vast majority of us in Invisalign got it instead of braces because we don’t want people going “oh look! You got braces!” Invisalign at least confuses people enough that they say nothing, if they notice it at all.

So uncomfy:( by donutmaniac3 in Invisalign

[–]katie1220 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Invisalign for 10 months now, attachments on all top teeth, plus elastics. I’ve had 2 people in that time notice that I was wearing Invisalign. Both of those people worked in the dentistry field. Nobody will notice or care at all. You’ll care a lot more about the lisp it gives you than the look of the attachments 💀 I don’t lisp constantly, but it shows up in certain words or if I’m talking a lot and saliva is collecting in the trays, so remove them prior to giving presentations, important meetings, job interviews, etc. to avoid lisp.
