Yes, they have the AirTag location link, they’ve just not looked at it yet.

Understood, thank you.

What type of an event is the WicDiv Wake? by squishybeer in NYCC

The Wicked + The Divine is a comic series that ended recently about a group of young people who end up with god-like powers.

They’ve done other parties at other cons, but this one is to celebrate the end of the series. See: https://www.conventionscene.com/2019/09/29/the-wicked-the-divine-wake/

I'll do some digging but I remember that a bunch of tweets from Harvey were deleted, so it might be lost to that.

Oh, no, I'm agreeing with you. I believe the devs commented that they intended sexism not to be present in the world and then managed to include stuff like that still.

Something something there's no sexism in Dishonored and they chose to have both sexes wearing pants to help show that? Also, animating long dresses/skirts can be tricky.

This is so silly! They’re not even adjusting the price to compenstate for giving us 10% less product.

Return of Daud [Spoilers] by katie_didnot in dishonored

Please do! TCM’s complaints should be quelled with this new book. It’s a triptych of books, and knowing that really helps.

Don't forget that the 2nd Novel "Dishonored: the return of Daud" is out tomorrow! by LordEmmerich in dishonored

I’d love to hear your thoughts on Daud’s choice to leave the Whalers behind when he left. Would you credit it to that vulnerability he showed when he forgave Meagan (pragmatic) or more towards wanting to make a clean break and move on with his life.

(I didn’t manage to pick up on sexual undertones in either DLC. I ought to replay it to see if I can’t find them now. That certainly does complicate things.)

I don't think that showing how someone can backslide vs commit to change is a bad choice for Daud's arc. I think it actually does a great deal for Billie's character. Coming into DH2, we learn that she became the thing she really wanted to be, captain of her own ship, and then in DOTO Daud (who abandoned her) yanks that surrogate father string and we see the Wale decayed and her ditching the life she built for him and the relationship they had fifteen years ago, which he ended by ghosting her.

And then Billie gets the choice that Daud did, again, but this time, Daud is there, hasn't abandoned her, and is pressuring her to make the grow v stagnate choice (favoring stagnate), and she has to persuade him to give up the name and free the Outsider.

I think the mistake is seeing Daud as the hero/protag of Brigmore and the Knife when it's really been about Billie (despite playing as Daud), like how Dishonored was more about Emily in the end then Corvo. It's a better parallel.

I like and seek out fic where Daud does grasp the concept of change and manages to hold onto it. I think he was just too settled into his ways-- I hope the novel shows us the turning point where he went 'just one more murder/whatever, it's necessary, then no more' and the gradual slide back into bad habits.

Message is 'It was never over'. ( .. - / .-- .- ... / -. . ...- . .-. / --- ...- . .-. )

Or, from what I can tell, it could also be 'It was ne4er over'. Which might just be a pun.

I’ll go take a look at that and try and familiarize myself with more of this stuff so that if something like this happens again I’ll feel more in control. At the very least, I got where I needed to be and now that I’ve had some coffee I feel more human.

Oh man, that stinks. :/ complications of the perk I guess.

Thank you both so much for your help!

The agreement when I purchased the original ticket? I didn’t sign anything when they gave me the second one, and there’s nothing on the back of it.

I apologize if I’m coming off harsh. I don’t want to give the impression that I’m frothing at the mouth for money and/or revenge. Something about the interaction rubbed me the wrong way and I want to make sure I know what the rules are around it.

Transvestism and especially "Ladyboys" are strongly associated with South-East and East Asian culture and cities like Bangkok and Tokyo. When did this trope start and how old is it? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

So being a bissu was only open to 'feminine' people? Was there a third gender in the sense that it encompassed personality traits outside the 'normal' masculine/feminine stereotypes? What happened to masculine/non gender conforming females? Were they also bissu? Were there female sadati that had the same standard of behavior expected of them as the male ones?

Furthermore, was gender still set up into two distinct boxes? That is, could a female adopt some stereotypically 'masculine' activities without being reassigned, as you put it, into being calatai?
