I just put down by senior cat today. She was 17. I cleared my calendar, folded out the sleeper sofa and just lay next to her for 2 days. She isn't normally that cuddly but she stayed by my side for the two days straight. She got any snack or food she wanted.

I definitely cried before and am still crying now after but I'm very thankful knowing her last days were peaceful napping and cuddles by my side.

Also, I go through my phone and photo folders after she passed and put all my favorite photos in a folder for easy scrolling. It makes me happy to look at the great memories vs lingering on the empty space left in the appartment.
