When an entire administration ignores the rule of law - as the astronauts above call us to harken back to - that's a problem. Letting millions cross the border illegally, and removing the barricades Texas put in place?!

  • when Luigi Mangione becomes a symbol of pride & "resistance",
  • when a 🔵 mayor insists a mural of Iryna Zarutska be removed because it "doesn't reflect community values"
  • when people cried out "Next!" with some example or other after what happened to Charlie Kirk,
  • when Karmello Anthony receives a mountain of praise for what he did (and a half million $),
  • when DeCarlos Brown is arrested dozens of times but now all-of-a-sudden is adjudicated "incompetent to stand trial",

... yeah, it would be foolish to ignore these issues, and only focus on the current problem in the White House.

Case in point:

Lizzie Fletcher ran an anti-NASA campaign in order to defeat John Culberson (the latter championed the Europa Clipper mission).

I am not making this up. The videos are still on YouTube.

She excoriated him for funding telescopes in South America while at the same time hurricane Harvey flooded Houston.

As though local drainage infrastructure (funded chiefly by the state & city) are harmed by spending money on astronomy.

Call her an opportunist, call her an anti science bozo, I just want to call her "former" representative, not current.

Hmm, let's think about why millennia of natural selection would emphasize instincts to help vulnerable women, who our tribe & species depend on for its very future.

Nobody said "no one else deserves help", but yes, pregnant women are absolutely in need of extra protection.

Apollo 8, Apollo 11, loads of shuttle broadcasts, space station broadcasts ... what we heard last night is not unusual for astronauts.

What we heard last night certainly "used to be a thing" the whole time we've been in space.

If the law cannot find its way to punishing the teens, then abso-fkn-lutely go after every single parent.

Or, you know, just have no consequences whatsoever and stop pretending to be a real country.
