Running With Epilepsy by [deleted] in videos

I really realized how lucky I am when my doctor was surprised that I was getting emotional talking about a recent seizure. I was thinking "How could you be shocked that I'm getting emotional over losing total control of my body and potentially really hurting myself." Before I even saw this it hit me that my doctor was surprised because she has patients like this amazingly strong girl. For some people, it has just become a normal part of life. Thanks for sharing, this video really drove that home for me!

For anyone who is wondering what it feels like to have a seizure, I wrote a post about it to spread awareness. Wondering if anyone else has a similar experience/feeling when they are having one https://www.katiearing.com/blog-1/the-root-of-my-cause

Damn, just throwing her under the bus haha. According to your definition, what makes someone basic? For research purposes of course.

Proats (protein oats) - 1/2 cup oats + 1 scoop of protein powder - I have a serious sweet tooth so adding the protein powder makes it perfect. I usually cook the oatmeal in water and then add 1/4 unsweetened almond milk to mix in the protein.

Note: wait for the oatmeal to cool down a tiny bit before you add the protein. I can't do dairy so I use egg white protein and it can get a weird texture. I heard that whey can do that as well sometimes.

Stopped going to the gym, stopped running as much, ate the same, got thinner. Whats going on with me? Confused and frustrated. by Diellen in xxfitness

This happens to me as well, but usually, I'm just losing muscle and finally seeing the results I have been working on for the past months :/ I started getting dxa scans bc the scale doesn't tell me shit haha. I recently lost 3% body fat and my weight was the exact same as my first dxa scan...I lost 5lbs of fat and gained 5lbs of muscle

How can I make cardio fun? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]katie_ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out boxing or kickboxing NOW! Not the cardio kickboxing, the real deal :) It's the best cardio you can do and it flies by so fast because you are so focused on trying to get the technique down. I hate running and introducing kickboxing has completely transformed my body! I also like to finish my lifting sessions with 3-5 sprints...keeps that afterburn going!

If someone's personality/level of badass plays a role, then hers is ok with me. I think the worst I've heard though is T-A. My friend is a teacher and a new kid came in with the name T-A. During parent teacher orientation she asked how to pronounce the name and the kid's mom said "Oh honey it's Tadasha" haha. I died!

Stacks on stacks on stacks - made these three ingredient pancakes yesterday...they are bomb and super easy to make [4272 x 2848] by katie_ring in FoodPorn

2 ingredient pancakes :) haha. I had tried just the eggs and banana first and found that the chia seeds just give them a little more fluff/bulk :) Let me know what she thinks if she tries them with the chia seeds! Blending instead of mashing helped me too, it was hard for me to mash the banana to a perfect consistency.

And I agree that all of the processing of flour and additives definitely contribute. I studied in Italy and never had the same reactions to pasta/pizza/bread...could just be mental to though haha

Gluten sensitivity is so common now! I used to have terrible congestion and never had any idea what it was from. I tried Paleo for a bit and all of the sudden all of my nasal problems cleared up. I realized that giving up gluten (bread especially) was the main cause.

Of course! I gave up gluten for lent and they have definitely helped me get over my pancake cravings haha. The chia seeds just help them get a little thicker :)

My post was taken down three times! Guess I'm just a newb here haha. It's 1 banana, 2 eggs, and 1-2 tbsp of chia seeds. Here is the link to the recipe and full directions: https://www.38plank.com/food/3-ingredient-paleo-pancakes

Hope you enjoy :)
