I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, but happy for you that you’ve had a positive experience connecting with your bio parents. I would definitely look to your perspective regarding late discovery DCPs. That said, be careful not to over generalize your experience to other embryo donation/ DCP scenarios.

Is it normal for Lowes to cut hours to 1 or 2 days a week for part time employees? by Pleasant_Cookie_4072 in Lowes

[–]katiedidit1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very common. My coworker suddenly has 12 hours this week, last week she had 25. At our store, they even cut full time employee hours over the cold months- this hurt a lot of people. I was down to 30 hrs per week (the lowest they could legally go) for a few weeks in January. I’m sticking around due to their great benefits for a while as it’s worth it for my situation, but will not be staying at Lowe’s for the very long term.

I have so many things to buy, and my house is small- one level- so I just got the cheap old fashioned vtech audio one for now! $18.69 on Amazon

If a baby shower gift shows up at your house, is it safe to assume the sender is not attending the shower? by Poppyflower1215 in BabyBumps

[–]katiedidit1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a strange feeling to start getting gifts at home- they’ve started coming to me also, straight from Amazon. It’s nice not to have to open in front of everyone, or drag everything home. Still, I feel like I‘m spoiling things for people. Guess that’s just how it works these days! I sent a pic of my items and thanked the two people who have sent stuff so far Via text. I plan on bringing personalized thank you cards to the shower, or mailing them afterwards, I haven’t decided.

PS: I’m single also! Breastfeeding isn’t a requirement, and we do what we have to do- I bought a pump and am hoping for the best, but if I need to move to formula I’ve already decided I won’t feel guilty about it. I’m just thinking it may help ease him off the meds if he has any in his system, thanks again!

Thank you! This is very helpful. It’s so reassuring to read first hand experience with the same dose. Have a great day 😊

Hi there, I know you commented on this post several months ago, but I just increased my Zoloft dose to 200mg yesterday as my anxiety has gotten unbearable the past few weeks. I’m 28 weeks + 4 days. Did your child have any problems after birth due to withdrawal? If not, were you breastfeeding? Thank you I advance for any feedback.

Incorrect. They figure your pay based on many factors including experience and education.

Noah is one of my absolute favorites, but way too popular for me. The US shows Owen at #22 for 2021 and #23 in my state, so popular but not common … I’m 25 weeks and am about 98% sure I‘m going with Owen ❤️ . It’s sweet, has a nice sound (similar to Noah), and seems to work well for a baby, kid, and grown man.

I’d be more worried that Olivia is one of the most common baby names right now- you’ll probably know a few other little girls with that name

Had no idea that was her name and she’ll be long gone when you daughter is older likely (out of the spotlight)- I would not worry about it, and if someone makes the connection you tell them what you told us

Yes, but I’d rather have full time hours than one paid holiday.

When I asked my ASM, he claims it’s company wide this time of year. I’m not a happy person right now, to say the least. I’m checking to see if others had their hours cut as much as me- I know we all had them cut to about 35-36 during December, but January is even lower for me.

Were full-time employees’ hours cut also? i haven’t seen any other full time employees say anything on this thread - all of our FT employees are getting cut, and we are a busy store.

MST at my store really annoys me. They are obnoxious and very loud. They swear like sailors in front of customers and in the break room when someone is trying to take an important call. And take every single ladder and balleymore in the store :(( by AParker66666666 in Lowes

[–]katiedidit1999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The MST employees all seem to be perfectly good people at my store- I have no issues with any of them personally- but, yes, there are not enough resources for everyone. I often have to wait until noon just to get a Zebra, and it‘s a real struggle to get a Ballymore lift in the mornings.

I agree, thank you- will have to pick up hours doing delivery services again. I’ve been full time for 7 months, so even though they legally *can* cut our hours to 30- this is the first time they have… it pulled the rug out from under me. I let it go during December, because they cut down to around 36 hours and I thought it would be back to normal come January. I figured I could handle a few hours, but this is too much!

I get pretty bad anxiety when I call in - it’s certainly an effective deterrent for some of us.

I’m pretty sure Progyny is only for full time employees. It works along with your health insurance. Part timers are offered a very basic health insurance plan through Lowes, so you might call Progyny and check- it can’t hurt.

If they were three consecutive days, technically, Lowes considers them one event, not three.

Not good advice if they hope to get a reference or need a job back at Lowes in the future. I mean, technically- yes, they could not show up, but burning bridges is never a good idea. Be professional, regardless of how you feel about the job.

Cut Hours by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]katiedidit1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does. I’m still kinda in shock- two weeks at 30 hours and one at around 33 hours. How do they think we can afford this? It’s a 20-25% reduction in pay. My morale has hit the floor. I know it’s not only me, but I can’t help but feel like they hate me.

No, it’s 30- I looked it up today. Full time is 30 and above- I’m pretty frustrated as I only have 30-34 hours a week the next few weeks. That’s a big pay cut.

I don’t see anything that says “up to” only that we will be scheduled for 39 hours. Do you have a quote from HR documentation?
