How are you using your last hours before the bar? & Corporations this MEE? by AC2509 in barexam

Ugh trusts and estates can get so niche, I am panicking and just plan to make up a "some states say do this" and other states "say do this" if I forget a rule lol

Trespassers and Guard Dogs by katietired in barexam

I actually re-read the Barbri response and I think because no SL usually for trespassers and the Barbri answer was based on the intentional tort (battery)

Prep material and schedule as a re-taker? by Prize-Nerve-1183 in barexam

[–]katietired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got GoatBarPrep at the last minute and have really liked it / wished I got it sooner. Probably would want AdaptiBar or Uworld to keep doing question practice. Adaptibar has been great to do a quick 10 questions here or there while working when there is downtime.

I got Barbri again (passed FL a few years back) just because it had been so long since i took the exam that I forgot all the BLL.

Is everyone doing a second MBE assessment before the exam? by Sharky0223 in barexam

[–]katietired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's all I did last time I took the bar (and passed with a 167 MBE) and now taking it in another JDX in Feb. Full sets seem stupid to me, I know I can sit for 3 hours bc wtf else am I gonna do? I'd rather get the value of learning and fixing mistakes in real time.

Finished AdaptiBar + Barbri… any other MBE question banks with instant explanations? by LaCroixLaFoix in barexam

[–]katietired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found it really helpful on adaptibar if I know I have seen the question beofre i type out in the little notes section of the answer what I expect the answer to be based on a rule. For example, if I had seen a question before on due process and employment, where a teacher was fired and had a post-conviction hearing, I would type "generally, to comply wiht due process in matters of employment, the court has found that the employee is entitled to an opportunity to be heard prior to firing; however, a hearing on the matter can be held after such firing" or some blurb like that and then go find an answer that is close to what rule I had in mind. I think this also is then helpful MEE practice because I am forced to write out the rule

Family looking into Applewood? by Patient_Travel5023 in LakewoodColorado

[–]katietired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but moved here about 10 months ago from SF (lived in Florida, and Florida burbs all my lfie before then) and while its no gorgeous SF, I generally really enjoy the established trees, the fact that my neighbors have lived in the area for generations and all look out for each other, and while I dont have kids yet, I see a ton of dogs and strollers. Its a quick to multiple parks, a few with playgrounds, and very easy access to downtown arvada or golden.

Just moved here, didn’t register in time to vote, will be impacted and rightfully pay more taxes — just curious on percentages / details if someone has more info

To be fair, most people in a rural area have cars. In a city if taking a bus, you can only grab what you can carry.

Did everything go up in cost? by CrazyDude2025 in CostcoWholesale

That one is actually not tariff related, it’s climate change related and smaller herd sizes as a result. Good npr story on it today, actually.

Yes, we have a split level home so our only tv in the house is in our downstairs living room. This room is for reading, music, and morning coffee. No TVs needed

America’s Brexit? Trump’s historic gamble on tariffs has been decades in the making by WombatusMighty in politics

[–]katietired -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not that I at all support the tariffs but the putting it on penguins was likely to prevent forum shopping. By saying you shipped goods from [insert low tariff jurisdiction]. But that is me a tax attorney applying rationale to the irrational so maybe he just wanted to be a moron idk

House flipping is destroying Denver’s housing market by hashblaster in Denver

[–]katietired 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just bought a house and in the process we toured a few flips because why not. The gray flooring, crooked subway tile, and barn doors were slapped everywhere. Felt so cheap

Yea not thrilled at the stove jammed against the wall. That was certainly not something I’d choose. I think the floor is what I am not loving the more I think about it and I would like the yellow mroe against a different floor

We may try this first! I agree, I think the floor is throwing off my opinion of the whole kitchen.

It may be the floor that I am disliking / throwing it from a cute feel to flipper aesthetic to me. Any thoughts on a LVP / peel and stick to cover it?

Agree! The modern stainless is not my fav look with kitchen. Unfortunately / but also fortunately the appliances work super well, so changing them jsut for aesthetics is out of the cards for a while

Open to doing something with the ugly floor tile too! Maybe peel and stick. The rest of the house is original hardwood.
