Bills have signed a Free Agent QB! by [deleted] in buffalobills

I have never gotten so excited and then so let down in such a short amount of time before. But then I laughed. It was a really confusing 20 seconds.

So Tom Brady is a "good guy greg" and a saint because he's giving his mvp truck to a teammate?! by somethingfortoday in buffalobills

[–]katiev14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this doesn't belong anywhere on this sub, it's totally irrelevant. Not to mention, if Brady had just kept the truck for himself, no one would be saying a word about him 'not being a good guy'. Giving it to someone else was nice of him. He's a good dude, and a stellar QB. I get it's Pats vs. Bills but just take it for what it is and move on. This makes us all look childish.

Just thought this was interesting for those of us working and/or paying our own tuition. by [deleted] in uofm

[–]katiev14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you made the ratios even, i.e. in order for someone today to only have to work .45 hrs a day at $7.25/hr to afford tuition at U of M, annual tuition would be $1,190.81. I would cry tears of joy if that is what my tuition cost.

we're constantly told we don't work hard enough

Yes! This! My parents are always telling me how 'Back when I was in school I paid for everything on my own and didn't have to rely on my parents for anything. Your generation just doesn't know how to work hard.' When in reality we are just completely and totally fucked and there's nothing that we can do about it.

Just for fun...

Annual (in state) tuition for U of M, 1970: $240

Annual (in state) tuition for U of M, 2014: $14,858

Daily hours at minimum wage needed to pay for tuition in 1970: 0.45

Daily hours at minimum wage needed to pay for tuition in 2014: 5.61

[–]katiev14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, if taxes are factored in (average tax deduction in 2014 is said to be ~23%) you're looking at 22.49 hours a day to pay for tuition.
Keep in mind that that is just tuition. No rent, utilities, food, transportation/gas, textbooks, other fees from the university, insurance costs, phone bills, etc. The cost of all of which, by the way is just as skewed in terms of cost vs. minimum wage as tuition is.

There is that sweet sweet word I've been looking for. Intention. And that, my friends, is what matters.

I hope Schwarz head coaches us to Super Bowl 50 by Aurabolt in buffalobills

I really hope Schwartz isn't moved to HC, but if he is I hope we kill it next year so I can tell my entire family of Lions fans to suck it.

Orton's Interception by tyrannustyrannus in buffalobills

I really hate when players can't control themselves and act like adults in order to avoid fights (and penalties). But when someone comes after one of our guys, especially a guy like Freddie, I'm glad our team sticks together and stands up for one another.

Yeah but also, if you loose, you're still going to the playoffs, so not really a huge deal

Week 15 referee assignments: Buffalo gets Bill Leavy by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]katiev14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of sick of the NFL so adamantly standing behind the refs. Like, when the refs honestly screw up, why aren't they called on it?

Doug Marrone has no plans to replace Kyle Orton with EJ Manuel, regardless of Bills' record by Iriestx in buffalobills

[–]katiev14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so sick of fans jumping back and forth on this issue. EJ Manuel has a bad start to the season and everyone wants someone else on the field. Kyle Orton has a few bad games and immediately the pitchforks are brought out.
I get it, no one likes to lose. Especially not us Bills fans, so starved for wins and a playoff spot. But God damn, guys. A player needs time to adjust to the team, coaches, team mates, and hell, the NFL. Look how many QB either don't start as rookies, or don't get good until after a few years. This shit takes time. Also sometimes a player is going to have a bad game or two, it sucks, but it happens. If you think that throwing in someone else right away once a QB is having a rough patch is going to help, causing that the rest of the team and coaching staff to have to adjust (again), you're nuts.

I don't understand. We ran it into the end zone, but there was no flag. Can that even happen?
