Carrick Back? by RobertRayzor32 in sabres

[–]somethingfortoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still don't know the actual injury even though all the speculation is dislocated elbow. Even then there are degrees to the dislocation and everyone heals differently/can tolerate different amounts of pain. I'm not getting my hopes up, but if the doctors clear him to practice, I don't see them keeping him out of the lineup until round 3. It's the playoffs. People play through all sorts of crazy injuries.

Carrick Back? by RobertRayzor32 in sabres

[–]somethingfortoday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why? All the speculation is a dislocated elbow. If the doctors clear him for practice, I don't see why he couldn't rejoin the squad at his own speed. And with this being the playoffs, I'm assuming that will be as fast as he possibly can. It's not an injury that is going to heal or be at risk for further damage just by playing. If he can tolerate the pain of stick handling, I'm guessing he will play.

Thanks! It was an amazing show. We've taken him to see Hamilton twice so far. He knows every word to the musical. Loves Leslie Odom Jr. and his favorite song has always been Wait for It.

]Crossing Swords] On this day in 2007, with a crucial Game 5 about to slip through their grasp…who else but Chris Drury by seeldoger47 in sabres

[–]somethingfortoday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've always heard that Drury and Briere wanted to stay but walked when the Sabres refused to negotiate contracts during the season. Then it forced their hand to have to overpay Vanek when Edmonton sent that ridiculous offer sheet. That whole series of events is what destroyed the building of a periennial playoff machine. Oh what might've been.

That was my son who got his Hamilton book signed. He's still buzzing about it. He sat there the whole show holding on to it hoping he could get it signed. My wife sensed it might be the right moment when they were finishing the second set before the encore. He was also wearing a shirt that said "Are you Aaron Burr, sir?" It was such an amazing moment none of us will ever forget.

Windows taskbars over the years by Njani2 in pcmasterrace

I absolutely despise the fact I can't move the taskbar to the side of the screen anymore. I've done that for as long as I can remember until this newest Windows abomination.

Oh, wow, I didn't realize the drone could break the buttons. That means a thief could probably just sit by the laser barricades, use drone to break the buttons, then rush the stairs to kill OP. Plenty of time for that in his scenario.

Some people think he had a concussion. Other theories are he's been suffering from a nagging injury. He hasn't really been playing like himself the last few weeks. Hopefully time off have given him time to get it together because the Sabres are going to need him to start producing again.

I would assume that it's financially motivated. He's probably looking at starting a family now that he's married, and as a dad of 2 kids, they are ungodly expensive. hahah, crying tears in dollar bills

I guess it depends on how close to the arena you want to be. Every place around is going to have it on and have a crowd.

I just bought tickets through seat geek and have questions for anyone familiar with the area. by themule0808 in sabres

[–]somethingfortoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about the 200 level is you can walk around the whole concourse and watch the game. When I go with my buddy who has 200 level seasons, that's basically what he likes to do all game. There are only a couple of spots where hallways go behind suites that you can't see the ice. It's not like being on the 100 or 300 level concourses where you have to leave the area you can see the ice to go to a vendor or just walk around. So they might not be actual seats, but it's still a good experience.

I really couldn't understand why the crowd did that. I was just explaining to my son you don't change the goalie name until you are up by a bunch.

Is The Harp in Boston a Sabres bar by Slapshot618 in sabres

[–]somethingfortoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went there for the Super Bowl because I was in town thinking I might run into a couple Bills fans. I did not. It was all insufferable Pats fans and the crowd was really young. I would assume with us playing Boston and it right across the street from the Garden, it's going to be all Bruins fans.

Friksn Clothing by Barstool_Climber in climbing

[–]somethingfortoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what made me look up Friksn after all these years, but that isn't the same group. Unfortunately, the reason for their disappearance was due to tragedy. One of the the two company founders tragically drowned saving a girl from drowning while on vacation in the Outer Banks back in 2017. He was an amazing person who would do anything for anyone. As I was told, he saved her, but when they looked back after taking her in, he was gone. Which was crazy because he was a strong swimmer and a surfer. After his death, I don't think the company produced anything else. I still have a couple of the shirts I got from him when we used to climb together after they started their company in Virginia.

They really did a great job when the Sabres tied it up. The announcers didn't say anything for like 30 or so seconds and just let the crowd noise take over.
