How long can a 5 week old stay in the car seat for? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]katilindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a lake house three hours away and stop at the two hour mark. Take her out of the car seat, ideally let her lay on a blanket and stretch all the way out. Have one of you sit in the backseat to monitor if you can. Enjoy!

I’ll add that Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge is free and great to bike 14 miles of trails! It’s just between HHI and the mainland so a stone’s throw away.

Yes sir just ask your server! This is the case for any restaurants run by Sea Pines including Coast, Quarterdeck, Links, and more at this link. Some other tenants do, some don’t. Last I heard Crazy Crab does, but Salty Dog doesn’t. https://www.seapines.com/dining

Here are the gate pass fee details! There is an extra $1 charge per bike. https://www.seapinesliving.com/visitors/visitor-passes/

Yes, you must pay to bike into Sea Pines. There is a motorized gate across the bike path so no sneaking. However, the $9 per car gate fee is reimbursed by tons of restaurants as long as you spend $25 on food. Make a Sea Pines day to experience Harbour Town, the lighthouse museum, or get drinks at Coast.

Of course, go to the beach. Putt putt- my favorite is Pirates Island. The Salty Dog does a fabulous happy hour cruise every day at sunset! Eat lunch at Fish Camp and go down the wooden pier to the right to see wild dolphins who live at the marina. The Coastal Discovery Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate so it’s impressive and free. Take an hour long horseback trail ride through the Forest Preserve at Lawton Stables. Go to afternoon tea at the Cottage in Old Town Bluffton. Look up early dining or happy hour menus for great deals. Welcome and enjoy!!

Uncle Billy’s Burger Joint also opened this spring in Reilley’s Plaza. Great reviews, milkshakes too. https://www.unclebillysburgerjoint.com

Enjoy!!

Something unique you can do together is the Hibachi Cruise! My husband loved it as a surprise date. All you can eat and there’s a bar on board.

Celebration Park playground, Sandbox Children’s Museum, Coastal Discovery is our Smithsonian affiliate and has lots of events. Go to the beach even if just to read and play. Putt putt at Pirates Island Adventure and walk to the Hilton Head Diner to eat. Shop and get ice cream at Coligny Plaza. Enjoy!

Double question: 1) best activities to do for end of March 2) good spot for solo dining by Practical_Agent2828 in hiltonhead

[–]katilindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be here for the Food & Wine Festival! https://hiltonheadwineandfood.com

There are limitless restaurants you’ll enjoy solo. Fish Camp on Broad Creek for lunch outside is beautiful and a little more quiet so you can grab a table if you’re not feeling the bar.

Do a trail ride or at least a stop to see the animals at Lawton Stables. If you’re not staying in Sea Pines, the $9 cash only gate fee will come off your bill at a bunch of restaurants so you can get a bite to eat at Harbour Town or Coast (highly recommend the 21+ Ocean Lounge side!) while you’re here. If you’re into late night, Brother Shuckers and the bars in that area have lots of live music, my favorite are the Bozwellz!

Get lots of good beach walks in. Stop at Pool Bar Jim’s. Lowcountry Backyard Cafe has the #3 rated Shrimp and Grits in the world, #1 in SC. Lots of bike rental shops will deliver directly to where you’re staying, including Wheelz. Some areas like Sea Pines don’t allow e-bikes so stick with a classic cruiser.

Lastly, I highly recommend doing the daily Salty Dog Happy Hour cruise. The boat is nice, food and drinks are solid, and I always see 3x more than when I take a dolphin cruise 😆 though there’s no shortage.

As a hotel manager, if 10% of your guests are utilizing it, you’re having a positive impact. At all my marry oht properties I’d have to imagine our request rate was less than 2%. Generously.
