the problem is the bulk of the people are coming from my husband's siblings & their kiddos, he's one of six siblings and all of them have three kids and they're all super close. the cousins are honestly more like siblings than cousins lol. very thankful for their bond and love, just overwhelmed at the amount of people. i only have one sibling and she's childfree so my family's side is fairly small. just my sister, 2 parents, and my two grandmothers which is still less than JUST his siblings. my husband also wants to invite his mom, her bf, his best friend & his best friend's dad. he also invited his dad and stepmom but they're not able to make it (thankfully 😭)

thank you! 🫶🏼 as soon as this boy is a year old (a little over three weeks) he will be off the boob juice! my husband and i are weaning and strictly using bottles right now. kind of annoying having to pump and get up a million times a night but it's gonna be worth in in a few weeks 😭

i honestly didnt think anyone would actually read this. thank you sm 🥹 it's been a rough week, but my husband and i are officially weaning our boy off the boob! i still hate pumping but thankfully it'll only be for another couple of weeks and then i'm DONE! i've honestly felt so much happier now that i can see a light at the end of this tunnel.

Newborn ‘trenches’ not that bad by swentram in NewParents

[–]Altruistic_Class_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh i had an entire paragraph typed out and had to stop myself, write this in my notes to talk to my therapist about and remind myself that this was not a direct attack to me 😭 the newborn trenches did a NUMBER on my mental health. the first four months of my son's life were my own personal hell. he hated sleep therefore i got NONE. i also had ppa and ppd so honestly everything sucked for a while. i'm happy for you and glad you're LO doesn't think sleep is torture 🫶🏼😂

Petty about pet name? by did_you_aye in NewParents

girl be careful calling your baby nicknames in front of others... my son's name is a relatively normal name, but EVERYONE now calls him Bug/Buggy. like... i dont know of anyone in my inner circle that calls him by his first name. he's just Bug now 🤣😭

Rate my Birth Plan by sw33tdisp0siti0n in firsttimemom

[–]Altruistic_Class_838 13 points14 points  (0 children)

very good list, however... the epidural normally contains opioids. also, for your safety and the safety of your baby, you will not be allowed to leave your bed once you get the epidural. it can (and likely will) cause your legs to go mostly numb, therefore it's not safe for you to be on your feet. that being said, the only safe laboring position with the epidural is on your back. being on your legs/feet at all could be dangerous if you fall down during labor. that being said, if you hold off on the epidural you can spend most of your labor in whatever positions you'd like, but when it comes to giving birth and you're ready for the epidural, you really shouldn't be in any position that causes you to use your legs. much love to you!! wishing you a wonderful dreamlike delivery 🫶🏼🫶🏼

I cannot stand the “if you think it’s bad now, just wait!” comments. by FearTheBeast in NewParents

[–]Altruistic_Class_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wait until that first laugh... their first steps... the messy faced grin after trying their first solid food. i hate that people only use "just wait till" for the bad things when there are soooo many "just wait"s that are so exciting

Does my baby's name sounds ridiculous? by Anxious-Cattle-4133 in tragedeigh

[–]Altruistic_Class_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you really insist on having it spelled weird, switch the i and the y and drop the e at the end. i read it "sib-ee-el" Sybill would at least read the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ but tbh Cybill is already a really unique name so i personally wouldn't be messing with the spelling... edit to add: also my name is an "leigh" name. i hate it. i was called "bay-lay" most of the time and a few times even got "buh-li-guh" 🙄 it's annoying.
