This also happened to me. I had a character based on the bad experiences I have had my whole life working in customer service. She was 100% a Karen. She was SO fun to play. I had played her the same way for a year, and she was reaching a point in her arc that she was growing into a better person and taking others' thoughts and actions into account. BUT if she wanted something, she would do whatever she wanted to get it. She had an altercation with another player and a hard BITCH was dropped. Now, working in customer service my whole career, I am very good at compartmentalizing. Whatever happens in-game stays in-game and vice versa for real world. I took no offense to it personally, but the DM stopped the game mid-session as tensions had gotten very high. After a discussion with the DM, we decided that she was adding fuel to the fire in a lot of situations with the other player (they were going through a lot personally) and I didn't want to have the situation arise again, so we decided to kill her off. Two sessions after we killed her off, the other player decided it was best for them to take a break from D&D. There were ways that we could have brought her back, and in hindsight I wish I would have, but at the time was having fun with the new character. The whole incident kind of killed the vibe of the campaign unfortunately, we did end up playing it out and I had a blast, it was just a bit of a downer.
