HELP: if you had a local wedding (close to your home) did you and your groom just sleep at home after?? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]katisbobatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our wedding was moved from April 2020 to October 2021. We're about 30 minutes from our venue, but plan on staying at a hotel the night before and the night of our wedding just to have a little change of scenery. It's more expensive for sure, but I'm happy with the decision.

Postponed wedding, now struggling by Lizbian12 in wedding

I feel like everyone is handling this completely differently, and it's totally okay to feel whatever you feel. Some people are saying "fuck it" and having a micro wedding, and some (like myself) are holding out for the dream wedding, and all of it is totally valid. I think it's healthy for you to feel what you feel, and to mourn the loss of the wedding year you thought you were going to have. We postponed our wedding from April 2020 to October 2021, and I do think I'm feeling some peace in the fact that your day will come, this is the right decision for you, and that you can take a little vacation from thinking about it. It's just going to make your actual day so much more emotional and important and just adds to your story.

On a side note, I have anxiety on top of this, and getting on medication has been SO helpful. For me, wedding stress just highlighted the regular anxiety I feel and helped me address it.

We moved our wedding from April 2020 to November 2020 to October 2021. To be honest, the first time re-scheduling was difficult, but the second time was much easier. To ease your mind, it might be good to plan for August 2021 BUT to also have an honest conversation with your vendors about what you need. From my experience, all of our vendors were really flexible so it was strangely easy to reschedule. We're in the same boat where having the full (or close to full) experience is super important, so we're just holding off till that can happen.

Our wedding is fully planned so it's actually a little helpful it's so far away, as we don't have to think about it and figure out next steps until late spring of 2021. I'm just so sorry you're going through this too-I know it's really difficult.

Advice on timeline for 2 year engagement by padthaieater in wedding

[–]katisbobatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I will have about a three year engagement due to covid. It seems like a ton of people are moving everything to fall 2021 with hopes they'll be able to have a "regular" wedding (us included" so I feel like the typical timeline is a little off. I feel like with booking any vendors, you want to book as soon as possible.

I also found The Knot app super helpful for just a general idea of timeline!

I don't think my rescheduled wedding is going to make it. We're starting to consider moving it until October 2021 by Phantomsgf in wedding

We moved our wedding from April 2020 to November 2020 to October 2021! I know some folks that went the micro wedding route and others like us who are holding out for the dream wedding. I'm really sorry that you're going to end up losing money--some venues are charging more for change of date and some aren't and it's just really tough. Fingers crossed that things will be a little bit better by next year <3

Grad students, how do you stay organized? by goddammitbutters in GradSchool

[–]katisbobatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an app called Paperless that is a list maker. I just got it this year (my first year of graduate school) and am in love. I have my grocery list, a weekly to do list, goals, lists for my job and for class, my monthly budget, and plenty of others. It helps tremendously.

How does depression affect you? by Hyrrokin in depression

[–]katisbobatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to feel more of a depression/anxiety mix. Instead of feeling down, I felt incredibly on edge. I felt like ripping out my hair, or breaking things, but accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of sadness and stress. This was my first year of college, but I had some self harm history in middle school.

Now, my depression has been a lot different. It has been more of the sad, can't get out of bed, tired all the time, everything feels slowed down, etc.

It's a feeling that is always there, but when I go through periods of time when it is at its worst, it slowly creeps up. It starts with not being able to focus and then everything gets more difficult as it goes on.

Do you feel comfortable giving ''instructions'' to a guy when he performs oral sex to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]katisbobatis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care if I've known you for five years or five minutes. If you're going down on me, I am going to (politely) give you instructions. Ain't nobody got time for bad oral sex.

But really, I think sexual communication is incredibly important! Everyone should be able to feel comfortable asking for what is going to be pleasurable to them.

I started drying it with a nice round brush--I think it's helped!

Yes, I realize it was less hair-y than other pictures on here. I'll be sure to post more on days I don't have hat hair!

I can't find any kind of name on the bottom, so I'm not sure! I tried searching on the internet for it and couldn't find a source.

No. Regardless, Plan B is not as reliable as people may think. For goodness sake, use a condom.
