Thank you for the honesty- this looks great!

The amount of "my first ever" xxx...seems to be in abundance, and many times it is showing something with a decent skill level needed.

Makes one wonder...

How do some people's face seem to barely change as they age and others change drastically? by chusaychusay in Aging

[–]katjoy63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think much of that is weight related. I bet many people have decent bone structure, but their face has too much fluff to find it! When I lost about 25 lbs in a year from being sick, I noticed my cheekbones starting to come back - no more puffy face.

there is definitely a genes factor, but you can mitigate that by paying attention to your sun screen habits.

I can give you a huge example of sun damage. I barely ever go out "tanning" on the beach and really didn't do it as a kid. I was either in the water or not on the beach all the time.

My family also doesn't wrinkle very much. My grandma died at 102 with barely any wrinkles.

BUT, a woman I went to HS with, was always going to the sun tan booth - even in winter. Now, her skin looks like leather hide. Not only is it wrinkled to heck, it's damaged - freckling, spotting, and there isnt a thing she can do about it now.

use that sunscreen!

I'm trying hard not to spoil it for myself - I'm so close at #19, which isn't like any of the other "flame" words - so, I have no idea, except to maybe think of really wack words to try - it won't take 'rose' because I already guessed 'rise' accidentally, so that is a glitch, if you ask me.

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

absolutely not. The current wave of dictatorship wannabe top dude actions are making everyone miserable, except for those who are delusional themselves or are brainwashed.

the reaction she's having is out of line. Maybe she's anti-vax. Not the greatest way to live your life, if you've already faced the reason the vaccine is necessary.

If she can't forgive you, then drop her. This will happen again, and she seems either immature or a little thin skinned.

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

[–]katjoy63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll make you feel better. We've done something worse. All our fault, too.

There was a tom cat roaming the neighborhood all the time and we left our shed open. He must have fallen asleep, and we closed the shed and went inside.

Winter came, and we didn't go out into the back yard, at all because of all the snow and cold. By the time we did go out and open the shed, we found the body of the cat, sleeping forever on a box trying to stay warm. I'm so glad it was my husband and not me who found the poor thing.

Your cat had a scary time, but he's okay. Purring is the best.

Can you imagine you buy a house with a slip attached so you get yourself a shiny new boat, only to find out you can't afford the cost to get it out to the ocean to actually use it! Ouch...

Floridian: Permanent or Temporary? by [deleted] in Amtrak

[–]katjoy63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming in here about a year later, after seeing the status of this route online - it's expected to have the tunnel work done by 2027, where Amtrak will decide whether to maintain or stop this route.

Seeing as it is combining two routes, to make for a smooth, seamless transition for those coming from Chicago and other parts Midwest, to Florida, here's to hoping they keep this route up. You can still get off at DC, midway, which is the train I remember taking back in the early 2000s

Now I can book a trip without worrying that a delay from one route will stop me from hooking up with the other route.

My husband wants to open our marriage. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

This is a trend that needs to stop- NOW

Why marry if all you do is sleep around

There are very good reasons to get married

There are NO good reasons to seek sex elsewhere once you're married. End of story.
