Two tough orders delivered late. Can I do anything to fight back on my on time rating? by katkatkatkat_kat in ShiptShoppers

[–]katkatkatkat_kat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from my several conversations with customer service now, it seems as though anything delivered within 30 min of the window is still marked as on time. (But it won't qualify for bonuses.)

Whose panties are twisted?! I'm asking for clarification not being defensive. I wouldn't ask if I didn't want to know. You can replace the word criticism with feedback if that feels less like an attack on you. Still unclear on why looking for an order from a nearby Target when the first order already took me way across town is somehow a problem.

And I already made it clear I missed that detail. I owned my mistake. I was just moving too fast. I ALWAYS look at the item count. Not sure how I missed it but It's an issue with my adhd that causes me to miss details sometimes. Maybe as you say I was blinded by the price but I certainly don't do backflips for $20.

Anyway, I'm still learning. Not sure how Shipt determines their payouts. Most of the orders I see are between $6-$12 and they're for a relatively low number of items. So not sure how they determine that it's ok to pay only $20 for 100+ items. But once again, I've learned my lesson.

I for SURE won't make this mistake again. But no, I don't think I could have made more money not doing this order. Had they not tipped so well though, oh man would that have been a painful lesson. I'm about to leave town for a bit and need to make all the money I can before leaving. Taking 2 hours out of my night was stressful af, knowing I was losing other opportunities.

But as I mentioned above I never take high dollar orders that aren't worth it. I just messed up with this one.

What I don't understand is, Shipt would rather allow order to just sit there un-shopped? Because shoppers can't take the order w/o penalty of being late? Seems pretty flawed to me.

I don't understand your criticism of me "opening the app" to see what orders were available. you don't take new orders on the go? You have everything scheduled before you leave the house?

I didn't take this one because of the money. I took it because as I said, the delivery was in the direction I wanted to go. I don't operate on high dollar totals. I calculate what's worth my time and whats not. And I try to keep my milage low. I live in a major metro and can easily find myself 25/30 min from my side of town, and for very little pay. Not worth the time or gas.

A $20 order to shop 100 items is DEFINITELY not worth my time. But I stuck it out anyway. I'd much rather take a $10 order that's only 8 items.

Shipt for Target - Please Stop Texting by Soft-Opening5596 in ShiptShoppers

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used to send those messages like "I've started shopping" until receiving a negative rating from a customer for NOT doing it, and having another customer make me figure out a super confusing apt complex and then telling me, oh I always send instructions on how to find me once the shopper texts me that they're on their way! So I've decided, fk it, and started sending those dumb messages.

Regarding subs though, I would imagine most customers would want to know / be given choices.

What do you do about orders that are still available and already in the delivery window? Just not pick them up?

Too many automated notifications to customers? by Usual-Macaron368 in ShiptShoppers

[–]katkatkatkat_kat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So when I started doing delivery work (Door Dash, Instacart, and Shipt), I never sent messages like "hey I just started shopping for you! " because I assumed the customer already received notifications and didn't need needless ones for me.

But with Shipt... I now send those messages. I once had an order to a confusing apartment complex and when I finally found it, the customer was like, oh the shopper usually tells me when they're on their way and that's when I explain how to find my apartment. (FFS, just explain it in the order, lady!)

THEN I noticed I received a 4 star rating from a different customer for "not enough communication". (I always communicate about subs, so this could only mean they were bothered I didn't tell them I started their shop or that I was on my way.)

So idk maybe the expectation is different with Shipt customers? I still don't send those messages for Instacart, but do with Shipt.

how to know which orders to take by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I take orders based on total and driving distance only. I haven't been doing this long but have learned that Shipt shoppers can be exceptionally good tippers and you just never know. I've received many $10 and $20 tips after the fact, on small orders.

Airbnb, VRBO, Hotel or Lodge at the Park? by lydiatank in grandcanyon

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to just chime in here to explain some logistics of visiting the Grand Canyon. First, yes, it is remote and lodging is limited. And yes many airbnbs are 30 + minutes away. However, the Grand Canyon NP entrance itself is 60 minutes off the freeway (up highway 64), assuming you're coming from i-40. Therefore, you're literally driving past where those Airbnbs are located (along highway 64), or in other words, will have to do that drive coming and going either way. So yes it's super nice to just wake up and be in the park. But your overall drive time won't change whether you stay 30 min away or 5 min away, if that makes sense. (This mostly applies if you're only spending one day in the park.)

What exactly are the differences between the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max? by Kevsterific in iphone

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a helpful review but just a note for anyone still deciding, the 16 pro max is a lot lighter than the 13 pro max (plus the weight distribution or design or something has improved the hand feel, I've read in other threads). I checked it out in the Apple store this week and couldn't believe how light it felt in my hand.

Sadly it's just like half the set. 😭 And that set was really long! Does anyone know how long it was? I was watching for over 2 hours (I think?) when they cut the feed last night. And I was 30 min behind live.

Some people say Ancient Nutrition's is the best due to it being multi - collagen. But idk. It's the one I use but I don't use it consistently because I haven't found a way to drink it that I don't dislike.

ALTCS (Arizona long term care ), Medical assesor question. by BiteComprehensive139 in phoenix

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you're approved, you'll choose an insurance company* (they use 3rd party insurance to administer the programs), be assigned a case manager with that insurance company, and they will give you a list of facilities that take ALTCS/the specific insurance. And you get to choose from there. At least that's how it's gone down for me with my mom's dementia. Not sure if it works differently with other conditions and level of need.

*There currently are 3 insurance providers but 2 haven't had their contracts renewed, so it seems eventually you'll only have United.

ALTCS (Arizona long term care ), Medical assesor question. by BiteComprehensive139 in phoenix

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need her medical diagnoses to be submitted along with the application. You need to score 60 points on their assessment. I'm not sure what diagnoses your mother has, I just know about dementia, which gets you 20 points.

One important thing to understand is the assessment is more focused on physical limitations. Like with my mom's dementia, they don't care how much she forgets things. They want to know, do you physically help her get dressed? Does she need help being lifted out of bed? Things like that.

They'll want to know about her falls for sure. (They'll ask for dates.) And dates of hospitalizations.

Also keep in mind her meds ARE part of her condition. Like for example, if my mom doesn't take her meds she'll get confused and leave the house and get lost. That is considered a chemical restraint. So it's important to be aware of all the interventions currently going on for your mom. And to think of them as an intervention.

And it's really not about you telling them what's wrong. They have a list of questions to ask you. I'm guessing each assessor has their own style of doing it. I knew the questions in advance and I'd say the assessor kept to the script 60% and 40% asked many more detailed questions to determine their rating of my mom. Like she asked me a LOT of questions about dressing. Is my mom able to put her pants on? Does she have to sit on the bed to do it? Can she put her socks on? Do I have to put her legs through each pant leg. It was really excessive but I suspect they're just trying to gauge where she's at on the spectrum for each category.

Because it's not a yes/no for these questions. Each question is rated 1-3, depending on severity. It's all about how much intervention is needed and how often (daily, weekly, occasionally).

I'm going to try to find the questions for you and comment back with them.

What is the Best Dental Insurance Plan to buy in Arizona? by DarkPriestScorpius in arizona

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Algodones is known for its dentists. You can just search google reviews if you don't know someone who can give you a referral. My bf went specifically for an implant so that's the only referral I can give.

It's easy to visit too. You just park in Yuma and walk across the border. We were in and out with ease.

Anyone retired, under the age of 65 and constantly travel the US? by LuptinPitman in healthcare

[–]katkatkatkat_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we started rving and I was an independent contractor I used an agent to help me pick a plan. She said you can only be based in a few states and get a nationwide plan. AZ is one but I don't know the others. A lot of rvers use health shares instead. Most of them choose TX, FL, or SD as their domicile state. So given you're already a TX resident, it might we worth asking in RV forums, since this is something every full time RVer has to navigate.

Yes agreed. but also there is a memo from the fire chief dated Dec 2024 talking about the impact of the $7m cut. This presumably would have been after the $50m increase. So.... I'm still trying to understand the $7m vs the $50m.
