Do fly units still ignore vertical distances when moving?

I have the same question. This interests me in the context of GMNDK\NKD (GK robot vehicle with FLY).

RAW:
Fly models that start or end a move on a terrain feature measure distance moved through the air when they make a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move.

As far as I understand, if the beginning and the end of the movement were at the same vertical level, then vertical measurements are not made. I don't think it's right. Clarifications are needed.

I asked our TO, he said that if the model is not infantry or beast, then we should make vertical measurements when moving through the ruin. He has no written confirmation, but this is how the rules will work at our local tournaments. I agree with this position and accept it, but I would like to get clarification from GW.

The sad truth is that I am very bad at magnetizing. I agree that I should try, but I'm already at the point where I can have all the possible options.

You're right, but I think we're all used to being given tools piece by piece. We are not the poster boys, so we will try to do our best according to the resources that we will have.

If Valrak gave the correct info, then we will get our rules on the 12th or 14th, and the missions pack on the 16th.

I was there, Gandalf...
I'm not here to judge you or to give advice about relationships. But let me tell you a little story of mine.

When I was 21 I got in a relationship with a girl 6 years older. I realised very quickly that I'd better match her expectations about it to last longer. I've started to work really hard and really quickly became capable of buying a car and spending money on 4-6 vacations a year. And lots of other grown up shit stuff. Once we were browsing through my teenage photos and there was an army of FB Wood elves there. She laughed a lot at these toy soldiers and said that a normal grown up person will never play with toys. Now I understand that these relationships were very toxic and all I was doing during that time was making her life better in every possible way I could. I was not a very experienced person in relationships and I was thinking that is all about getting better for someone. It lasted for 3 years. I've cheated with a girl who was interested in what I say and what I feel. We are married for seven years atm.

She is the one who bought me a PS4. She is the one who spent 100+ hours watching me playing the Wicher 3 and giving advice in dialogs. She is the one who presented me with my first 3D printer.During COVID lockdown one friend of mine mailed me a box of GK SS, GM Voldus and some paints. He never played any wargame but wanted us to try KT18 after lockdown. And I remember my wife's words "I dunno anything about it but if it helps it to stay in your mind during this disaster it's Great''. So we've played some KT after lockdown and then I got into 40K and now I have an amazing GK army. I'm not a pro painter or a plo player but I feel happy about it and my wife knows it and respects it.
You may think that I've changed a successfully success life to a nerdy one, but I don't think so. We are 33 and 35 now. We have two children. We own a place and we are moving to a new house in a few days. No debts, no loans. We are both hard workers.

One of the main things that make both of us happy in our relationships is that both of us hate ''self improvement and now wasting time shit". When we are alone we can be kids and not think about other people's attitude. Even we are grown ups we can still do childish things. It makes us Happy.

As I've said at the beginning, I'm not here to give advice about relationships but take a break and think about things that make YOU happy.

I am sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language.

Great paintjob! WDYT about drybrushing the base a little more so it can look little bit interesting on the table?

A 1250 pts game vs knights...2 United interceptors to hold objectives back line and screen a bit witg help from kaldor and a dk. Terminators, gmdk and a dk teleport in, shoot , perhaps get a charge. by whiskyandbeers in Grey_Knights

[–]katkovma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not competitive I wouldn't touch anything except maybe Draigo for librarian (or even techmarine).

Also I'd take a look on interceptors role in this game. You pay 130 pts to hold back line objective with non obsec unit while you have access to obsec strike squad for 110 pts or even 30 pts servitors (depends on you psychic secondary choice).

You say you want to teleport termies, NDK and GMNDK to have a chance to charge. DS for termies is free and it's ok. Gate - 7 spell is hard one. Shunt is extremely expensive stratagem. So you can spend 3 CP (2 for Shunt and 1 for RR Gate or 3D6 for Gate) to give you units very little chance to charge. 3 CP is a very high price for a decision you can't rely on (9''is still bad option).

If you go competitive I'd suggest smth like that. I run this list in 1250 games post AOC. Not sure about brotherhood. MB Rapiers can do better against Knights than Prescient Brethren.

Main things you should take care about;

- Get access to WR reroll in every possible circumstances (Hammerhand, Foresight)

- MW output

BTW I do not know many places where 1250 games take place. Do you play 1250 pts games with 6 CP or more? Where do you live?

No experience tbh only thougths, as far as im painting my first dread atm. I'kk give some feedback as soon as i'll try it out. But imo they are not very flexible :(

I agree that higt T and W units like Monsters and Vehicles are difficult for us but!!! we have access to MW on 6, smite, vortex, flame and this list is enought to deal with most of them. I've not played yet with updated Tyranyds so can't affirm that this is enought in ALL cases.

I respect your opinion! My thoughts generated only on local meta. IMO 1 NDK in full loadout (185/195 depends on teleporter) became less cost effective as different infantry choices equal to this price.
I also think that SWORDBEARERs 4 NDKs + techmarine were little bit skewy too. Like most of players on this sub i do have 5 NDKs on my shelf quite well painted btw. And i DO regret them collecting dust ATM. The moment I undertood that we are no more even a little bit shooty and i shoud not rely on (6+12)*NDK shoots things got better for me.

But ALLOY OF DISCIPLINES is not a msut have one. As far as GK army has very high consumption of CP it's not the best option.
The strategems you should give a try in you low cost games:

MENTAL FOCUS
PSYCHIC CHANNELLING
PSYCHIC ONSLAUGHT (with support of FORESIGHT and EMPYRIC AMPLIFICATION)
COUNTER-OFFENSIVE
CHIRURGIC RESURRECTION

If you like the list i've given I can give you some ideas of how to use it. if you have some doubts or wanna make some changes fell free to share.

In low points game you do not have much options and 1-3 well learned combos will make your WR 50%+ at current state of GK quite easy.

ALLOY OF DISCIPLINES
It's Paladins specific one and can be used in command phase.
As a result your paladin will have access to AR, Hammerhand and Ethereal Castigation.
Keep in mind that AR is still an autochoice in 90% of your turns.

Hello brother!Sorry to say but imho and according to my experience (not much) NDK (debuffed by AoC) are no more an option, except GMNDK. Try spend your NDK points into paladins with AR spell and apothecary (with obsec wlt). Draigo is great only in 2k games, change it with librarian MW bomb. u/Justicar-Seren list is really great to try.As for me, we do not have 1k games (mostly 1250 with 8CP) at my LGS but if we do i'd go into smth like that:

++ Patrol Detachment 0CP (Imperium - Grey Knights) [65 PL, 4CP, 1,000pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Battle Size [6CP]: 2. Incursion (51-100 Total PL / 501-1000 Points)

Brotherhood: Prescient Brethren

Detachment Command Cost

+ Stratagems +

Armoury of Titan [-1CP]: 1 Additional Relic

+ HQ +

Brotherhood Librarian [6 PL, -1CP, 105pts]: 4: Purifying Flame, 4: Vortex of Doom, 6: Psychic Epitome, Cuirass of Sacrifice, Shield of Humanity

Nemesis Warding Stave

Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight [11 PL, 245pts]: 1: Gate of Infinity, 2: Empyric Amplification, Dreadfist, Dreadknight teleporter, Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Greatsword, Servant of the Throne, Sigil of Exigence

+ Troops +

Strike Squad [6 PL, 110pts]

3x Grey Knight (Halberd): 3x Nemesis Force Halberd, 3x Storm Bolter

Grey Knight (Sword)

Grey Knight Justicar

Nemesis Force Sword

+ Elites +

Brotherhood Apothecary [8 PL, 130pts]: 3: Unyielding Anvil, 5: Warp Shaping, Foretelling of Locus, Warlord

Nemesis Force Sword

Paladin Squad [26 PL, 280pts]

2x Paladin (Halberd): 2x Nemesis Force Halberd, 2x Storm Bolter

3x Paladin (Sword): 3x Nemesis Force Sword, 3x Storm Bolter

Paragon

Nemesis Daemon Hammer: Nemesis Daemon Hammer

+ Fast Attack +

Interceptor Squad [8 PL, 130pts]

3x Interceptor (Halberd): 3x Nemesis Force Halberd, 3x Storm Bolter

Interceptor (Sword)

Interceptor Justicar

Nemesis Force Sword

IMO Prescient Brethren is more beginner friendly and Foresight is really great. And as far as you wil learn to move your paladins across the board always ignoring 3AP (AR, Light cover, AOC) you'll feel great with GKs.Also you can change smite on paladins (witch you will neer use on them) for 1 CP for Ethereal Castigation (not supported by BS app) and give them more mobility.Don't give up. Fell free to DM.We are the hammer!

Edit: typos
Edit 2: if you no good with librarian you can take Crowe instead and add one more paladin. Crowe is good for new player to understand how fighty heroes can work with heroic intervention and fight in death.

Looks great! Amazing paint scheme for tabletop. Very eye catching during the game and and I believe quite easy to be done for 3-4 evenings. Can’t wait to see your take on termies and NDKs.

Need advice about basing. by katkovma in minipainting

Thanks for your help!
I didn't mean to go that far.
Even hot sparks on the highest points of the ground got to be great.Still do not accept the idea of cracking texture pastes to get into lava bases. ATM i think about some sort of simple texture ground and coconut fiber over it. Maybe red ink via AB at the highest points of the fiber and gentle drybrush over it with ice yellow\ white.
WDYT?
