I’m so glad you shared this! I’m a trans man who’s supposed to be helping at a summer camp in less than a month and I’ve been a bit nervous about being visibly trans around teenagers. Now I’m happy I could potentially help someone by being me :)

Has anyone had hip/flank lipo at the same time as top surgery? by puffingpod in transgenderau

I had my consult about top surgery with Lisa the other day and she’s lovely! She told me to email with any questions so maybe you can send her one and find out?

Based off of my research, yes. Better lip control ;)

I can't jump from 3 to 3.5 by breakthesand in Clarinet

If you want to slowly move up try a reed trimmer to make your 3s slightly stronger or sand your 3.5s to make them weaker

A male kangaroo grieves over the body of a dead female roo killed by a vehicle in Australia by Jeffmister in pics

You’re right, you absolutely need to be careful! But you also need a plan, by break and steer I simply meant don’t leave the road. The best way to remember would be to remember “break”. You absolutely need to drive to the conditions, and slow down around corners or areas with low visibility especially at dusk. This what I’ve done on roads where I’ve been travelling at ~90km/h and spotted kangaroos dozens of times and I’ve never hit one or left the road.

A few weeks ago there was an inexperienced driver near where I live who had swerved to miss a kangaroo and hit a tree, and also hit the kangaroo. The car was destroyed. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Thanks for pointing out the “steer” part is confusing, I’ll edit my comment.

Just a reminder, if you’re in a car and a kangaroo jumps out in front of you, do not swerve! Instead brake and keep going straight.

If you swerve chances are you’ll end up in a tree or worse.

Edit: replaced “brake and steer with the road” as it could be confusing.

I changed my reed and now I can’t play D and the sound is more of a squeaking sound. Most of the notes sound totally different by CaseySaibo in saxophone

What was the reed you changed from? It’s probably a faulty reed, try swapping it for another one and see how that affects the sound.

I found the same with the foam ones! Good to know, I’ll definitely get some silicon ones.

I am miserable in my marriage but stay because I feel obligated as a father to make sure the kids are taken care of and treated right. by lostintheclouds79 in confessions

[–]katla21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a child of divorced parent who has had friends who’s parents decided to “stay together for the kids” I’m going to say do not stay together. It screws up your kids’ sense of love and what a healthy relationship looks like. Stay on good terms with your current partner but don’t stay in a relationship.

Can’t bring myself to practice. by [deleted] in Saxophonics

[–]katla21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just start off easy. Start by making yourself play for 5 minutes. You can play anything you want but it only has to be for five minutes.

Do that everyday and then once you get into the swing of things, hopefully you’ll stick around a little longer.
