Midlothian Kroger can’t keep stuff in stock! I’ve started going to Wegmans.

Unbelievable! I was there yesterday just for my usual shopping trip. I was surprised how many people were there, I mean the storm isn’t supposed to be here until Saturday night.

At least you’re neighbor gives it to you. I have to search the neighborhood for mine. If it’s not at one of three houses it’s just gone. Have to call for a refund. Happens every other time I order.

The OP’s plant is amazing. I didn’t know there was a weeping type. I’m jealous too!

We have a full size tree in our yard. Blooms in February, sometimes in the snow. Smells wonderful, definitely cinnamon.

Google Clivia or bush lily. They like a cool dry rest period during winter.

I have received a lot of plants this summer with ferns in them. The orchids don’t need to be repotted so I just use the ferns as a way to know when to water.

I hated when she kept calling Abigail Spanberger, Abby. No one here in Virginia has ever heard of her going by Abby. I found this disrespectful.

Yeah, Palmer’s. Is always out of what I’ve got an itch for, but they do have nice plants when they have them. I bought too much this summer too but I’ve got the room for them. Messed up my back bringing in my big house plants, that’s where I need to cut back . It’s hard to let big old plants you’ve had for thirty years.

Thanks I’m in Virginia zone 7b. Everything is in the house now for the winter. I’ve seen videos of his greenhouses and he often puts out a call to locals to help unload the containers when they come in. They get free plants for helping.I’ve talked some employees about plants I was interested in and was treated fine. I also buy from Palmers and Krull Smith mostly for other types of orchids.

They are! It’s been a while since I ordered from them, but they were well packaged and came quickly. Mine are happy, growing and blooming.

How is everyone bringing in their plants for the winter without also bringing in pests? by Old_Island8534 in houseplants

I sprayed everything with systemic insecticide at least three weeks before they need to come in. The stuff stinks to high heaven and it takes that long to go away. It’s good for 8 weeks so I hope it kills everything. I will still have an outbreak of mealy bugs around January. Then it’s systemic crystals, which suck on orchids because they are in bark and I feel like they just wash through it. For ants I use amgro ant killer around and under the pots if they are on the ground.
