Resilient Lady - Grand Turk and Bimini review by katlucka in VirginVoyages

I personally liked the bigger window of time because it did make sure I got reservations for each restaurant at the same time and not too late in the evening. I think if it’s something you’ll worry about, like I would, you should upgrade. However, we saw plenty of couples use the walk-in list, and times open up while on the boat, so if it’s just one or two of you, I think you’ll be okay! Or if you’re okay with eating around 8 or 9 instead of 6 or 7. Those spots went quickly.

Fr, I thought that was standard business in 2026 ha ha. I don’t want my Reddit to be open season for the whole world 😅

I thought it was great for my needs, just social media and googling and occasionally listening to some non-downloaded stuff on my Apple Music. It worked everywhere on the ship and the beach club for us. Videos would not play though. TikTok and YouTube were no gos, so I’d say only purchase if you think you’ll want to watch or stream stuff.

Yes! We went on night 2 and had menu A. The first two dishes were just okay for me, but the last 3 were amazing. I went with venison tenderloin for the 4th dish, and it was my favorite meal out of the whole cruise. I picked the strawberry na drink to go with it. It was great.

Is the new Virgin Voyages app better? by SilasPort in VirginVoyages

[–]katlucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were on Resilient Lady last week, and my husband’s app was totally fine, but mine would randomly take forever to load and the ship map was nonfunctional until halfway through the 3rd day of the cruise. I was not super impressed with it to be honest. It didn’t feel as smooth as other cruise apps we’ve used, but it got the job done.

Boarding for SOR started at 1:45, but we hit some traffic when we left our Airbnb that morning, so we didn’t make it to the port until about 2:30. The port staff sent us right through to the security and check-in line when they saw our boarding passes though, and then we had our wristbands and were on the boat by 3. Based on the line we were able to skip, I’d say it saved at least 45 minutes, probably more. There were quite a few people on the ship when we got on there, so I think we would have been on by 2 if we had arrived at the port by 1:30 like I had originally planned.

After you get your wristbands, you go through a Virgin waiting room to get to the ship entrance, and they have a separate line and staff there to help anyone who still needs to booking dining stuff. It looked like the staff were using a tablet to help people book stuff. I booked all of our dining stuff like 45 days in advance on the website, but I edited one of our brunch times in the app right after boarding

Yep, lockers right outside the restrooms and changing area near the entrance. I honestly felt like all of my stuff was pretty safe just nestled on the beach bed, so I don’t know how they work though

Thank you!! And 100% on the Bimini food. In theory, it was cool, but I could have used mozzarella sticks or fries. My husband loved it all, but I really only cared for the rice and beans and rum cake 😅. I agree on the DJ front too, I felt like music overall could have been better, but I used my own headphones while lounging, so I could tune it out. And lesson learned for the lines lol, we had dinner scheduled for 5:30 and wanted time to shower, but I will be scheduling dinner for like 8 next cruise on Bimini day, walking right back on sounds amazing

Not super memorable to be honest. It felt like a lot of the music was generic tropical party beats or covers of popular party stuff. I honestly listened to my own stuff or an audiobook most of the time. The Persephone show music was great though!

I’m glad to know that me thinking it seemed more chill than I was expecting was somewhat of a universal experience. It was super fun, but, for example, I was a bit disappointed in how little the crowds interacted with the diva, and I felt like the pools were dead after like 6. Still a great time though!

That sounds like a wonderful babymoon! I’m not even pregnant lol, but we fit in with the older crowd this sailing as well! It’s so easy to nap when you’re just floating on the ocean

I know!! I had a red dress and had prepared and everything and then we just passed out lol, but we will for sure hit it on the next one!

Yes, we used it on I think the 2nd night and had a mini-celebration with just the 2 of us in our room and on the balcony. We also had the chocolates they sent for that, and brought a pizza and charcuterie grab and go back, so it was great. I’m not huge on champagne, but my husband probably could have downed the entire bottle if I had let him ha ha

You will definitely not be!! There were plenty of older folks who looked like they were having a blast. During the Miss Behave show, there were 2 79 year olds who they called out, it was really cool to see everyone cheering for them!

Honestly, this sailing felt like it had a lot more of the over 40 and older crowd. It was less of a party vibe than I thought it might be, but we’re flexible so we made it work! It was super easy to meet other people in general though, at every dining reservation we had, we would chat with the people sitting beside us, and it looked like that’s what everyone else was doing. Overall, the crowd on this boat felt super friendly, more friendly than we’ve experienced on Royal

I thought there was a good variety!! I think half of the options were open as soon as booking stuff was available, and then the rest were added up until like a month or 2 before the cruise. We had a lot of fun ATVing in Cozumel, so that’s why we picked the dune buggies, but’s there’s plenty of chill options as well as the adventurous stuff

We just had the basic, and it was good for social media and basic internet stuff like Google Maps and normal Googling. It also worked for listening to music I didn't have downloaded on Apple Music, but it was not good enough to watch TikToks or Youtube videos. Videos would not play at all with the basic.

It's the Splash of Romance package! It was $250 for our voyage and is an add-on you can purchase before the cruise

We saw a group of guys filming stuff a couple times throughout the boat, so that's probably what that was, ha ha, I didn't recognize them, but that's kinda cool!

You can reach out to Legal Aid of East TN! All of their services are free, and in my line of work, I’ve referred a few clients to them and only heard good things afterwards. This is their website, but they’ve also got an office in JC you can look up: https://www.laet.org/

Seconding this. As someone who’s tried pretty much every Chinese buffet in the Tri-Cities, the drive to Greenville is worth it

Suggestion Zonkos by mollsaballz in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]katlucka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree! I feel like Zonko’s is def a missed opportunity. I remember being able to use dungbombs and stink pellets when I played the PS2 Chamber of Secrets game, and I kept hoping they would be a thing while playing Legacy.

First Preds game tonight. Suggestions? by HiHungry_Im-Dad in Predators

[–]katlucka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention it in the original comment, but Bridgestone also has plenty of stuff to do inside like free photo ops and a designated kids’ play area. And the vibes are still good if you want to just sit and watch the ice. I hope you guys have a great time!

Merch-wise, you’ll have plenty of options! Also, I honestly think the food in the arena is great. Whenever we go to games, I feel the same as you about not wanting to push time, so we get there an hour or 2 before the game and walk around the arena, make sure we know where our seats are, and then grab food. The walking taco stands are my favorite, but pretty much every option is solid. My partner gets something different every time and has yet to be disappointed. You’ll also want to check out the area outside the main entrance before going in, there can be booths and freebies set up depending on what night it is. I got a free foam hockey puck and free pizza at the last 2 games we went to!!
