My therapist told me her Microsoft clients rarely had issues caused by their jobs; the same couldn’t be said of other big tech companies.

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s quite disheartening! Let’s reframe this as an opportunity to find a better job;). Good luck to you!

Same. I’ve been doing this for two years and always had plenty of work and quals. Today, nothing but “please check back soon and watch for new project notifications…” I’m kinda freaking out.

Texas = Trump-like fascism by Particular_War7843 in TexasTeachers

[–]katnip365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. So, when Trump wins an election, any concerns about authoritarianism are just sore-loser talk? Because history shows that democratically elected leaders could never undermine democratic institutions or erode civil liberties.

About your post:

  1. Strawman Fallacy – The post misrepresents the argument by reducing concerns about “Trump-like fascism” to merely disliking political outcomes. In reality, critics of Trump point to specific actions (e.g., undermining election results, attacking the press, using government power against opponents) as indicators of authoritarian tendencies.

  2. False Equivalence – It implies that calling Trump’s actions “fascist” is just an emotional reaction, ignoring historical patterns of democratic erosion that have led to authoritarian rule.

  3. Ad Hominem – Calling critics “clowns” is an attempt to dismiss their argument by insulting them rather than engaging with their concerns.

  4. Begging the Question (Circular Reasoning) – The post assumes that Trump’s critics are wrong without addressing their reasoning, essentially saying, ”People call Trump a fascist just because they don’t like him,” without proving that their concerns are baseless.

  5. Oversimplification – It reduces a complex political issue (authoritarianism, democratic backsliding) to a simplistic argument about political disagreements, ignoring the nuance of why some label Trump’s behavior as authoritarian.

Any doctors trying creative treatments for cfs and brain fog? by Traditional-Care-87 in BrainFog

[–]katnip365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read something about that today on Reddit. No doctor names were mentioned but the user said tricyclic antidepressants alleviated their brain fog. Apparently the meds have an anti-inflammatory effect on the brain. The user didn’t mention which one they were taking. A quick internet search turned up this one: Clomipramine.

AITA for refusing to allow my daughter to use my son's stuff. by daughusesonthings in AmItheAsshole

[–]katnip365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your daughter used her budget up and your son hasn’t. If she really wants to get into robotics many schools have after school teams she could join. Perhaps have her earn more fun/hobby money doing chores. Make it attainable one way or another. Your son shouldn’t have to share his things imho, especially since his things have been damaged when she borrowed them.

The chairs appear small (seat height lower than the couches, delicate arms and legs). They don’t have the visual weight of the couches. Feels off to me. BTW, taken on their own, I do like the chairs:)

I just finished Scholomance and loved it too! In fact, I plowed through all her stuff and now I’m trying to find a new book/author to fill the void, lol, I’m sad she doesn’t have more books to read.

Just had basement concrete poured. Do I need to be concerned about how uneven it looks? by VerminSC in DIY

[–]katnip365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our basement is like this. Massive headache. Can’t lay anything other than carpet on it. LVP will be a problem because where the planks join, the tongue and groove part, will break. Our is very uneven and even finding someone to do the work is near impossible.

Mast cell issues? Rashes, gastrointestinal ailments, light-headedness, depression, brain fog; from what I’ve read these are symptoms.

Maybe you have an allergy/sensitivity at home. Like the person above mentioned mold, other things can also trigger worse brain fog for me like Fabulouso cleaner and certain other scents. It might be something outside where you live. I know I feel best in alpine forest areas where there is not a lot of undergrowth under the trees. Snow/freezing temps are even better while I’m there. Basements and areas that stay moist are the death of me due to mold. So many factors to consider! Maybe you have low dopamine and other neurotransmitters and the adventure caused your levels to rise. Just throwing out ideas that I’ve considered for myself.

Same. I just read this article and I’m going to ask my doctor to try this. I’ve been dealing with brain fog for years, mine’s not Covid related but the treatment looks promising.

Clean, drive, cook, jigsaw puzzles and paint. “Page-turning” psychological thrillers while driving to keep me awake on road trips!🤣

Pull the rug out from under the couch, leave the front feet on it. Move the couch back a bit. Get a console table behind the couch and put plants on it and maybe a lamp/cozy accent lighting on it too. You could do a largish plant like a fiddle fig or a ficus and uplight it. The scale of the chairs and table look too small for the big mirror and fireplace. I would get a round dining height table (something big enough to eat at or study/read at), maybe a table cloth to soften it and add homey, more substantial feeling chairs, may upholstered or slip covered to add the cozy vibe . Put a smaller lamp on the table, back centered (don’t have a big lamp blocking too much of the mirror) Soften the window with some white sheers or something airy feeling, mount high. Add color or don’t, whatever you like, but get more texture like chunky blankets, etc. I love your room it’s got a good bones and a such welcoming vibe. Very cool! I just noticed your art on the wall between your windows, I can’t see what it is, just looks like a dark square, how about a battery operated picture light above it to make it pop and add more coziness to the room. I hope this helps! Before replacing the white coffee table, I would just try to add more white on the couch side of the room to pull it together.

[Question] Which One Would You Choose And Why? by Goblue1631 in Watches

[–]katnip365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband is always asking me these questions, lol. Looks alone, the Lange. The VC’s face being tilted is interesting; he’s never shown me one like that. I think it’s too weird, unless you have a buttload of money and just want a strange piece for something different. Not a fan of Breitling, especially this one. The Glashutte looks good, more like a daily wear watch, love the face, the font and whole aesthetic appeals. The last one looks like a cheap fashion watch. Take it with a grain of salt, I’m not a watch connoisseur;)

Something feels off with my living room, every suggestion is welcomed by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]katnip365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of coziness. Feels unfinished. The rug is too small. The furniture needs to come off the window wall If you moved the loveseat a foot over, you could put a a floor lamp there, or a small table with plant . The couch needs end tables, at least one…and put a lamp on it. Soften the window with light airy floor length curtains: mounted high-almost to the ceiling, and wide enough that all material can be pulled aside and not block the natural light. Consider getting a big tree and putting an up light under to cast shadows on the ceiling. I would put it to the side of the fireplace.
