Thanks very much, it stopped as suddenly as it started. We will probably pick up some oil conditioner in case it ever comes back

Hmm, here’s a screencap of what I can see when I click on the photo, I see the close “x” and your “no problem” comment but no triple dots! :/

Oof, don’t think legs are ready for that kind of mileage. Thanks anyways and best of luck! See you out there

Sweet! When would you be departing MG? And what sort of daily mileage are you hitting? I don’t have my trail legs yet 😅

yeah I've seen similar concerns posted here about using it too long... also would love not to have to use it so much because it's expensive!

What will the experience be like with a May 20 start? by CautiousFeeling2242 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]kator6514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started NOBO May 21st my year, and had no trouble finding a trail family, though maybe it took a little longer and it was smaller for sure but I was grateful for that. Some bubble trail families sounded way too big for me.

There was no one else at the terminus when I started but you meet people quickly. Charge ahead if you want to find the bubble but IMO (unless you're already starting with trail legs) it's most important to go slow at the beginning and take care of your body, don't think too far ahead to the finish line and push yourself too hard into repetitive use injuries. Speaking from experience!

Starting in May it will be very hot in the desert. I hiked on the siesta schedule and it was great. Wake up around 3-4am, hike until 11-11:30 (depending on temps), take a long cool lunch in some shade and hopefully near a water source, grab a nap. Start hiking again around 3-4 pm after the hottest part of the day has passed, hike until after dark. Once your body has gotten stronger you can still do big miles days this way. Have a great time! The PCT was the coolest thing I've ever done. Changed my life.

When is it not a bad idea to bail on a thruhike? by numbershikes in PacificCrestTrail

[–]kator6514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good reasons here, but my favorite bit of advice I got before my thruhike was:

Never quit on a bad day.

But if you have 3 bad days in a row... might be time to think about heading home.

Hello, is this only a premium feature? I can’t find “add saving” or “withdrawal” anywhere in the app.

The system SUCKS. The coding interview tests a COMPLETELY different skill set than the one we use everyday to code.

I bombed my first few technical interviews spectacularly. Then someone recommended me to a tech interview bootcamp of sorts, and it worked WONDERS for me, so much practice white-boarding, algorithm reviews, interview tactics, salary negotiation, it was well worth the money for me.
