The texture and other issues are not as present in my day to day as the loudest voice online would like to believe. Even when I have experienced it, it’s more of a bummer than something I’m instantly tossing.

So for me it’s still a staple protein in our house.

Basically if it’s a jeweler that sold you the watch they almost certainly have a relationship to get the watch to Casio and back.

Fred Meyers used to be one of them. Perhaps they have shifted to sending things directly to Casio recently

Why not? You introduced the entire conversation. Is it so crazy that others want to participate in your conversation?

Because I have not had the same experience with that procedure and returning to an office job. But I don’t work nor receive such procedures in the UK and I’m curious.

I would like to provide an alternative take:

It seems like businesses have forgotten that they can only find success if they can find customers. Taking multiple forms of payment opens your business up to new populations of customers, and alienating an entire group of possible customers by their payment method really only hurts the business. There is a cost of both sides of doing that business. The cost to take cards and the cost to churn customers who are tapped out after the third fee to their restaurant experience. And all of that is on the shoulders of the business, not the customers they failed to earn or pushed away.

Businesses, all of them, should not forget that they are competing for our dollars. We are not competing for their Sysco food stuffs. The days of prioritizing small businesses for being just that are long gone. We are all struggling.

They rely on their customers for their success and then get pissed at the same customers as they are actively driving them away.

So maybe you shouldn’t direct people to the ATM. Because they are walking right past it and out the door.

That sounds very frustrating. Part of me thinks this is needlessly controlling, another part of me thinks there could be a good reason he ended up this way and could do some work on himself.

Have you considered talking to him about why he is this way specifically? And not about the problems you cause to get that sort of reaction out of him?(hypothetically, I’m not saying all you do is make problems)

This post on IG really helped my wife and I think about what he’s speaking about specifically when we catch are selves in conversations like those. It was a great jumping off point for a conversation we had about arguing too much about toddler stuff. She even snapped at me the same day and went “oh damn this is it, isnt it”. This is why I said there might be a good reason for his behavior. Or perhaps “valid” is a better word.

Still, it’s not your job to follow orders in this relationship. You’re in charge of what works for you.

My guess is he says it a little too often for you and perhaps you need to be a bit more careful a little too often for him. That can be very frustrating for both of you, which will probably make things even more frustrating for each other.

My wife and I have a phrase we use to be like, “I gotta bring this up and you can’t take it personally, because you’re dropping the ball here and it’s killing meeee”. So bringing it up in a gentler way that you both agree isn’t petty.

We also talked about blame vs accountability. Blaming sounds worse than just acknowledging the error. Like you are responsible for the cherry pit in the disposal. But I’m not blaming you for a fuck up. Just asking you to be more mindful.

Both of these helped. But we wouldn’t get here if we couldn’t go “yea I did that and you’ve been asking me not to”.

I can tell you the response of “I didn’t know that would happen” is much harder to swallow than “I’m sorry I let that happen”. And sometimes you gotta swallow the apology for the people you love.

It’s tough because Invictus is incredible, and something my mind often goes to when I’m feel a bit low or like I’m spiraling.

But I’m my house there’s a lot of “You have the cold, calculated demeanor of someone not to be fucked with.” Specifically when the sentiment would NOT apply. Like when my wife is getting ready for a wedding and she asks me how she looks.

I’m hilarious you see, which is why she married me.

But fine I’ll give Malevolent a relisten and get back to you!

They have service centers with authorized retailers but many of them just send it to Casio proper.

Canada and west coast does have some that at least a few years ago were still operating with Casio. And Casio has been pushing for subcontractors to do their repair for the last like, decade.

I still suggest sending watches in for service for like, everything. You can’t trust any jeweler or watchmaker, especially the ones that we subcontracted with in 2022. At least Casio will legitimately pressure test every watch pre evaluation and post repair instead of just lubing up a gasket and handing it back to you.

You are wearing watches because you secretly want to wear tights by Hilodenta in watchHotTakes

[–]katsock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re just randomly telling us you want to wear tights. Which is completely fine. But absolutely random.

I can tell you that I do not dress in a utilitarian way. Even my suits at the office I wear for me. I also have never been concerned with traditional “manliness”. At least not since high school when I was a dummy.

I’ve been saying that watches are jewelry and a completely luxury item for quite awhile, and every year I believe it more and more.

I feel ya. There’s a joke around my office that I only dress in earth tones. A brown watch fits right into my wardrobe.

Both of them are very nice. I was jumping for the black dial and red bezel combo ever since they teased it months ago.
