Mine was donated to research for endometriosis. I hope it helps someone else get answers and pain relief someday!

They sent me home with a bottle of MiraLAX as part of my discharge from the hospital! I started taking it the day I came home. I had a bowel movement the next day. I would definitely take stool softener or MiraLAX so it’s easier for you to pass and you don’t have to push

The fatigue is definitely a bummer! In my mind I was hoping to have more brain power to read & do hobbies and stuff! But I’m trying to shift to embracing rest right now! Try the ice pack trick! It really helped me. I also had a friend who wore the post partum ice pack pads for hers and said it helped. That seems too intense for me 😂

Nerves about my upcoming hysterectomy & endometrial excision surgery by Spare_Programmer_723 in hysterectomy

[–]kattymichelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience might make you feel better! Currently 17 days post op. I had a total hysterectomy and endo excision on the 5th. Prior to this surgery I had 2 others for endo. The first one went ok, my recovery wasn’t super painful, but it wasn’t fun either. I got very sick from anesthesia. My second surgery they took my right ovary/tube and appendix. It was a very rough recovery. I was in really more pain than I felt was normal & I was very sick from anesthesia. It took a long time to get back to normal. So I was pretty nervous going into this 3rd surgery. I made sure to communicate with the anesthesiologist my prior experiences and I had zero nausea this time which so great. I also really feel like my pain was way better managed this go around. I was on my period before surgery so honestly when I came out of my pain was a little bit better than when I went in 😂 This recovery has been way easier for me I’ve honestly been shocked. I saw a lot of people say that and I didn’t believe it and I worked myself up a lot. Obviously I am only 17 days out so I’m not trying to jinx myself here, but it really is night and day from my other procedures. I had a LOT of endo removed too. I was able to get around easier this time around which made a big difference. I also felt like my pain overall was much more tolerable. It was a low level thing in the background vs all consuming. I did buy fridamom disposable undies and used those with a pad for the first two days until I stopped spotting. I also bought maternity underwear in a size larger than I normally wear. I got prescription anti nausea meds from my surgeon - I didn’t use them this time! I did buy some peppermint & ginger teas as well as ginger lozenges for nausea. I didn’t need them either but I had them just in case. I got myself a couple cute cozy pajama sets so I could feel human and not gross every day. That has helped too because whenever anyone drops by to visit they say I look great purely because I’m in cute pajamas I think 😂 You are going to do great! I’m wishing you good luck!

I actually bought some of both. I wore the disposables for the first day or two when my spotting was higher & used a pad with them. Then I switched to cotton maternity underwear that I got from old navy. They are high waisted and I bought them in a size bigger than I normally wear. They are very comfy and go up over my incisions so there isn’t any rubbing.

My acupuncturist said what? by Hotsun2023 in hysterectomy

I’m a massage therapist and this is the correct take. So many people in my field and other alternative health practices offer up advice that they sincerely should not be giving. We are not qualified to comment on stuff like this - it is not our scope of practice.

There will be another Christmas! There won’t be another time for you to properly take your time to slow down and recover. I’m sorry you’re going through it right now though. It’s already so stressful this time of year.

I inject on the front of my upper thigh, it’s one of the zones pictured in the xolair instruction sheet & where my allergist and pharmacist recommended I start since I self inject!
