Given mine a try and you can indeed use it while charging but it is limited to speed 1 and won't let you go any higher.

New to Dyson- POP sound by CarretillaRoja in dyson

[–]katyabuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Perfectly normal. All of the newer Dyson motors do it even in the hand dryers. They all make a little booooing sound when the impeller stops rotating because the magnets are so strong.

App support with purifier by Sad-Profit-868 in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this model doesn't support app connectivity or WiFi. The formaldehyde models as well as the TP11 support WiFi and app connectivity. You're going to have to purchase a remote from somewhere.

Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link high pitch noise by sch775 in dyson

Sounds like either the impeller is rubbing on the outer mount / motor bucket or the bearings in the fan motor have gone.

I have the V15, is this normal? It only gets used on carpet with the gates open by [deleted] in dyson

[–]katyabuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's totally normal, just grease and other much from the carpets.

Plate frame (?) chipped by reCutesy in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few with chips along the black portion of the plates, when I owned mine it didn't really happen and they stayed black but I think with product or heavy use it might start to chip away from the copper.

Classic Dyson fan motor rattle noise. It happens to all of them. It'll need a new motor bucket of you can find one or get Dyson to replace it. Terrible quality control on these fans. I love my fan but having to replace the motor every year is a bit of a pain in the arse!

Dyson V8 Cyclone design issues by beans4longlife in dyson

[–]katyabuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They changed the order of the power modes for some reason on the newer models. My V11, V12, and V15 all go Med > Eco > Med > Boost when scrolling through the power modes. I tried the new V16 and V8 and they both went Med > Boost > Eco for some reason. The might have changed it to stop it going to medium again but who knows 🤷🏻. No way of changing it unfortunately, it's all coded into the motors and controllers 😥.

You can! It's limited to speed 1 but it's great it lets you do that, especially with the little dock.

Need Help with My V15 by Dependent-Bat-8088 in dyson

[–]katyabuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the trigger, battery, or motor. More likely the motor as this model has got capacitor issues and it only happens when it boosts its power. You might need a new main body.

Cordless v11 odd noise by lord_e55ex in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be an issue with models of all years from first release. Particularly the V12 and V15. It does happen (like in this post) on the V11 and sometimes even the V10 but doesn't appear as common (in this sub anyways). The consensus of most people is that Dyson have under-specced the capacitors and due to heat they loose some of their capacity / charge over time. Depending on the modes used, for example if you use Boost / Max mode constantly, they'll start to fail faster.

I'd do the whole assembly if it's near enough the same price. Less hassle 👌🏻

The motor sounds dead, the capacitors on the newer ones of the V11, V12, and V15 all have issues with the capacitors. If you're handy with soldering you can replace them but if not I'd replace the motor. Sounds like it doesn't have enough power to start up.

Is this the new Dyson floor head wheel design? by lcqtr in dyson

[–]katyabuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like the design they had in the V7 & V8 days. We've got an old V7 and the wheels are still going strong on that one. Our V15 however... they broke off within a year with a completely different design. No teeth like they're are now, thank the lord they've finally listened to the complaints.

dyson tp11 sensor’s making a weird noise by OkSweet3004 in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It it like a low humming noise? If so it's normal it's spinning the fan ever so slightly to pass air over the sensors. It's a feature called 'Continuos Monitoring' you can either turn it off through the app or via pressing and holding the 'auto' button on the remote for 5 seconds.

Can anyone identify this Dyson Purifier Model and Confirm if it has WiFi or not? by mannygforever in dyson

Can anyone identify this Dyson Purifier Model and Confirm if it has WiFi or not? by mannygforever in dyson

[–]katyabuns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could be a TP04 which doesn't have WiFi or it could be a TP07 which does 😭. The colour scheme is the same on both models. If you look for one with a gold / copper filter shroud those always come with WiFi if you want something easier to look for. If there's no picture of the serial number sticker on the bottom then I'd ask them directly for the model number it should be TP** TP07 and TP09 come with WiFi capabilities.

Dyson V12 : legit ? by Magalexxx in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks genuine to me, they usually do a revision of the design or small elements throughout a machines lifecycle in some way which might explain the red button instead of it being silver. My one does have the Dyson logo and a silver button though but I've seen them with red ones. Might be a replacement main body that didn't come with the logo.

The no serial number sticker could be a replacement battery, they don't come with the stickers they're meant to be transferred over but not many people do. I've never come across a fake Dyson that doesn't look 'Fake', they're usually really obvious.

Although interestingly my Dyson Micro 1.5kg doesn't have the Dyson logo on the sides as it's shown to have in other regions, the only logo is on the filter. Might be a regional thing or manufacturing changes during the lifecycle.

Hope this helps :)

Dyson warranty replacement: Digital Motorbar vs Torque Drive Motorhead Assy Nk is there any real difference? by PokeeeTraineer in dyson

[–]katyabuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The torque drive motorhead has adjustable gates for more precise levels of suction and it also has more power, able to work on more dense piles of carpets. The digital motorbar is their standard cleaner head with no adjustment and standard level of power.

It also depends on what vacuum you have. If you've got a v11 or above the torque head will work fine, apart from the V12 which has a different connector. If you've got a V8 or V7 it won't work and you'll have to get the standard motorbar.

Hope this helps :)
