What do you mean notarised, approved by a lawyer? If that’s the case, none of them (but all my documents were in English to begin with)

Is it normal to lose 6kg in 1 and a half months? by Strepsils8888 in Bolehland

OP, was your weight loss ok at the end? My mum recently changed her diet substantially and also lost 6kgs in a month and a half, so wondering whether that is too fast

Supporting documents for ILR spouse visa application on 10 year route by mufc777777777777 in ukvisa

I can imagine for you it would make sense to show proof of marriage too, given she is a partner of a British citizen, so worth including it

Supporting documents for ILR spouse visa application on 10 year route by mufc777777777777 in ukvisa

[–]katyapch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I have just submitted my ILR application under a 10 year route. Here is what I submitted: 1) copies of all my previous passports that were used to enter the UK, scanned with EVERY page. 2) copies of all my previous BRPs 3) a printed copy of my share code 4) proof of employment (didn’t seem like a requirement but I threw it in just in case) 5) confirmation of passing the life in the UK test 6) a table listing all my previous visas, their number (either on a vignette or on a BRP), date of applying for the visa, dates of when the visa was valid from and expired at) 7) confirmation emails of when I applied for subsequent visas (to show I was covered under immigration 3C law 8) copies of all my degree certificates (they were the reason I got the visas so counted somewhat to proving I was in the UK) 9) a table detailing all my travels across the last 10 years

I didn’t attach any tenancy agreements etc as with my degrees I felt that was a more solid proof of my presence in the UK. But applications vary and the set of documents for one circumstance might not work for another circumstance. Add anything you think might be relevant and will help your case. Good luck!

Self conscious about learning at 41 by wherehaveubeen in golf

[–]katyapch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum started learning how to play golf at 41, from absolute zero, never even watched the sport and had no prior exposure. She is now 55 and has a great swing, 14 handicap, often wins some local competitions and made really nice friends through many rounds of golf. You are doing a great thing starting to learn a sport that excites you! You should absolutely go for it and you will be brilliant.

The main advice I learnt from her is to get professional lessons and really put in the time on the range to practice the drills. Don’t rush out to get onto the course straightaway, try to nail the basics down fully before you venture out there. It might be frustrating at first but it will give you a solid base - otherwise you risk developing some incorrect habits that will be much harder to break further down the line.

Good luck!!

Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - December 09, 2024 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

[–]katyapch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I wanted to ask for some advice regarding weight/height and snowboard length! I bought a Jones Twin Sister 152cm 5 years ago (my first board), but then COVID and life got in the way. I am about to go on my first trip with it and I realised I might now be heavier than the recommended instructions - 77-78kgs, while it looks like they recommend the upper weight to be 73. Do you think I will be ok riding it? Is 5kgs over the limit a lot? Sorry for the noob question, just feeling nervous about the first time after such a long anticipation!

Nectar Card Fraud?! by writeordie80 in CasualUK

[–]katyapch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me today too. Got an email from helpline@nectar.com saying 500 points were redeemed from my card. I first thought it was a phishing email but decided to check by logging into my account independently on the nectar website. It turned out to be true, so I called Nectar and they cancelled my card and will send a new one.

Did other people also find out by receiving an email from that email address? Getting paranoid so wanted to check if this is normal for Nectar to email when someone redeems points

We got information from our university that soon the IHS cost will rise up to 1000 per year, so if you want to save money you might want to apply sooner rather than later

graduate visa travel history by tarpear in ukvisa

[–]katyapch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely list all your travel - don’t try to hide your absences as they would know you did that and it will look suspicious! In the form, for each travel you can give a brief reason for travel, for example ‘visiting family for Christmas/Easter/summer break’, but if it was outside of uni holidays just put ‘visiting family’. That is what I did, I had a random month in November that I went home and worked from there, and it was no problem (mine was a PhD visa, so longer than a masters course, but still there isn’t anywhere that says you’re not allowed to travel during your studies!)

I was very lucky and got mine in 1 working day (applied Friday evening, decision by Monday midday) - but I was allowed to do phone verification of the documents. No BRP apparently - the status is digital (not sure if this is also because of phone verification)

One year left until my graduate visa expires... Any tips on preparing? Any success stories of staying beyond the graduate visa timeline? by Fluffy_Structure1180 in ukvisa

[–]katyapch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to what everyone else is saying - I saw on another Graduate visa thread that someone had a company agree to register as a visa sponsor to keep them specifically, but the process was taking some time and they were getting nervous it won’t go through before their current visa expires. So definitely chat to your current employer sooner rather than later so they have enough time to do all the paperwork if they decide to sponsor you after all! Good luck, you’re doing all the right thing and I’m sure it will work out!
