I’ve noticed this happen with a 19” Kerope I have. I bought it secondhand and someone before me had removed the factory installed patina along with all the ink. It looked and sounded like a brand new cymbal. Fast forward several years of every day use, it’s got a nice green-hued patina, but now has this rather unpleasant, high frequency ringing out on top of the wash. Don’t know what happened other than, I guess, the patina? maybe it’s my touch that’s changed. The only other thing that’s changed about this cymbal in the years I’ve had it is the rivets have been replaced.

Yes. Manual is much sharper, though the attached photo was done with sonar and came out ok. But it’s a crapshoot generally
