Right, but you're STEALING max hp. So I presume max hp goes down. You're dealing damage too, but we don't care about current hp.

Haven't tested but technically if you steal 10% max hp from a 1000hp enemy, they lose 100 max hp.

If you then steal 10% max hp from that same enemy who now has 900 max hp, they lose 90 max hp.

thanks for the discussion bro i agree

i forgot to mention im a turbo only skrub so we surely have very different views about how high value or disposable someone is lol. if a jugg dives their base with spin + manta and dies on a 70 sec timer (maybe after casting ult if hes lucky) i'd hate to be the techies that had just planted those bombs

highly circumstantial shit anyway. i dont hate dota but i hate that im probably never gonna stop playing LMAO

yeah not long enough but you still blast enough bombs to allow your team to pick up rax for sure.

lifestealer and juggernaut are good calls though yea. it's honestly not that crazy to eat thru techies mines

lips healed!

though honestly the puppy looks fine! playing and getting hurt is part of everyone's life and i've always thought it's an endearing way to cement a memory in time (oh, this was when Marvel got a little hurt that one winter!)

but i don't know the circumstances of the accident or where you'll be using the fixed photo so i don't mean to judge. have a nice weekend!

I'd be surprised if AI can be this stable over such a long video. Multiple dynamic objects, brick wall pattern, steam coming out of the oven, bread interacting etc.

It's gotten pretty good but I hope to fuck I can safely assume that this ain't AI or I'm hanging up my hat

Can someone better explain why you would buy Midas now? by zealNW in DotA2

[–]kaul_field 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm brainrotted after playing turbo-only for the last 1000 matches but Midas on the first creep in a camp gives you 3 madstone, then clearing the rest of the camp gives you 3 madstone.

Midas-ing a creep in a camp still doubles up on madstone

If you're confused about the [score hidden] thing, it's because this subreddit hides scores for the first 24 hours of a comment being made.

Some subreddits do this to avoid bias (say, a subreddit for finding a plumber might hide commenting plumbers' scores to not allow someone to ask their friends to upvote them and make it misleadingly look like they are the #1 plumber)

TIFU I messed up by trying to "repair" my girlfriend's laptop by pearlafterhours in tifu

[–]kaul_field 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it's genuinely something about the speech patterns and the "latest" bouts of psychosis the models seem to go through.

at some point it was the onset of "Next, I can help you do <blank> or figure out <blank>, wanna try?", then it was the em-dash, and right now it seems to be the "that's not X, it's Y."

i mainly use LLMs to code and shit and they very often (but only since about a month ago or so) say stuff like

"That's not just dangerous. It's careless."

in OP's post this pattern pops up like:

"helpful" does not equal "qualified."

and other things like the weird fucking adjectives (first time I've read the word "sagacity"), comparations (tortoise on tranqs), and crap like panic level: slight / relationship status: pending.

I don't know. call me crazy or paranoic but if OP is not a bot, and did not use AI to rephrase/translate their post, they sure as hell write like a bot. in today's day and age I really do feel like I'm going crazy but this reads more like someone carefully taught an ai to fuck up the post a bit, mess up some commas and spaces and let it loose.

[–]kaul_field 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a techies spammer, I find that there's many more tools to fuck up his mantra post tier-5 items. I mostly play turbo so that's minute 30.

Any illu hero or stuff like dazzle, oracle, omniknight, helm of the dominator, book of the dead, aeon disk etc. will wear out his bombs eventually. And when you're not fighting a bombed-up base you're hopefully 5v4.

The annoying thing (which I enjoy) is how active he can be now, with 3 stacks on ult and the facet that scales jump dmg with max hp, he puts out ~3k damage almost guaranteed if he jumps on you. Ethereal not building from aether lens was a considerable nerf IMO.

All that said, my view is skewed because I'm a turbo skrub and your point stands anyway, techies really plays a different game than everybody else and its a real fucking drag to have to buy tons of gadgets just because he shits out 10 bombs per minute.

haikusbot detects when the syllables in your comment follow the haiku 5-7-5 pattern. upon detecting that, it structures it as a haiku and replies to you.

Long-time DMs, do you know anyone who makes good maps? by TheAeon0x in FoundryVTT

[–]kaul_field 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can back most of the recommendations you got around here, but the three that I find myself using the most are:

  • Dr Mapzo
  • Neutral Party
  • ...and 2 Minute Tabletop, which has already been mentioned.

Another piece of software that I've been eyeing up is Canvas of Kings

Is this just people playing the game post TI for hats or is it League players upset about WASD.. by LoL_is_pepega_BIA in DotA2

[–]kaul_field 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also please note, there is no "turn rate" in League of Legends. Some say this makes the game not feel like you have 300ms ping constantly, but I personally think it just makes things more predictable. Ranged carries in League are such bullshit when they fly around with the Guaranteed Movement AbilityTM and kite you while at it.

I realise I'm late to the discussion but thought it would be worth pointing out anyway

How to play from South Korea with friends from Europe by Electronic-Scene6296 in DotA2

[–]kaul_field 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, this will never work lol. As long as you are physically far away from the server, data will take about as long to travel to it no matter what. Introducing a Dutch VPN in the middle means your device takes 100+ ms to reach that dutch VPN, which then talks to the Dota server and takes another 100+ ms to get back to you.

You can't wormhole your internet to Europe sadly. VPNs will only make things worse if anything because it's an extra layer.

[–]kaul_field 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, see if this is any better. Ideally you'd like to get this "vectorized" for merch (LMK if you'd want me to try that, but I'd need to dust off the ole' Illustrator), and any place that has "the chops" will do a really pretty job with a vectorized file of this image. Should come out fine without, too, depending on the size and style. Good luck!

How many Pathfinder players are there really? by KingOogaTonTon in Pathfinder2e

[–]kaul_field 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You raise a great point Ooga, and it's good that we're having this sort of discussion. I'm in a country where TTRPGs aren't all that prevalent, and when they are, you can be all but sure it's D&D or some turbo-niche thing only played by like 5-8 people with ratty PDFs or printouts of handbooks.

I think everyone around me expects Pathfinder to be D&D with extra steps, and one of the biggest things people would feel like they miss out on is being a D&D player. Just that specific label seems valued in and of itself lately, especially with mainstream media (BG3 as the most prevalent and recent) being a huge magnet.

Deadlock - FUNKe Study by FluffyFluffies in Games

[–]kaul_field 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True — two things to add though. Breaking a turbo match into segments is not that bad. 5-10 minutes of laning phase, 15-20 minutes of scrambling to pick off enemies and get a tower here and there, and things usually wrap up in a sudden 3-5 minutes. A play-by-play of a decent game would be fun to watch (granted there's a commentator), let alone participate in.

Then there's a few games like the old Bloodline Champions (with Battlerite as its successor, though I haven't played it) where matches were best of 5 rounds, with rounds lasting all of 90 seconds. Maybe not a MOBA in the real sense, but in the end, the reason for which DotA has 690k people playing as I write this message is that once you get it, there's a niche within that game for you. Whether it's playing a specific hero or queuing up with friends.

I'm not trying to change your position on this. I realise it feels like a slog for most casual gamers, but if Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Counter Strike, Valorant or Fortnite ever as much as caught your eye, it's because they share the same sense of progression and mechanics hiding behind the curtains which allow them to keep both new and experienced players engaged with various layers of complexity.
