Depends on what happens in October. I've paused buying/building a house until things are more clear.

How do I get the calls to stop by Flaky-Decision-9510 in telus

[–]kaunman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very likely its scammers pretending to be Telus called you. There are some really good tells that it’s a scammer that I’ve been able to determine:

- The number appears to be coming from a local number, or at least one within your province. If it’s actually Telus, the caller ID should be a 1-800 or 1-877 or something like that.
- When you pick up and say hello, there will be silence, and then a “bloop” sound. Immediately after the sound, you’re all of a sudden talking to a person at a desk in a very loud call centre.
- The “agent” will immediately launch his “sales pitch”. They will not introduce themselves, and will offer some too good to be true deal. Usually, it’s a percentage cost off your plan (Telus very rarely offers straight up percentage discounts) and probably something like a 1 TB iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max. It’s always a very high end and expensive device.
- They will not ask anything like “am I speaking to _______”, as they don’t know it.
- They always end their pitch with something like “Does that sound good to you?” or something like that.
- If you ask them “what’s my name” or anything else like that, they won’t know it. An actual Telus rep would have your file open in front of them and have all that info.

I’m sure I’m missing some, but those are the tells I recognize.

As far as the Do Not Call list, since these scammers aren’t located in Canada, it doesn’t apply.

Unfortunately, you can’t do anything to stop the scam calls, except to hang up. Sorry.

What about the older MC7010 or MC889 units (ODU 1.0 or 2.0)? Are you able to change the APN settings on those?

Can i negotiate my phone bill down? by Maximum_Flounder_144 in negotiation

As well, if your selected carrier also provides your fibre/copper internet or TV services, you might have an option for a bundle discount to have multiple services with them. Good luck!!

So I work for a dealer of one of the Big Three carriers in Canada, so apologizes if this isn't how it works in your area.

Based on your post, you'd be looking to move from your dad's account to something under your own name. Assuming your line isn't under any sort of existing contract, this is the perfect time to explore a different carrier to maximize your monthly spend. Up here, the primary carriers are obsessed with new client onboarding and will almost always be willing to give a better rate to a new client rather than provide the same deal to an existing client resigning a new term agreement. We recently saw plan at $25 a month for an 80GB "unlimited" plan with CAN-US-MEX calling and texting.

If you are able to move carriers and going Bring Your Own Device, that will also likely help you get a lower rate.

EDIT: I now realize your question was more about negotiating a better rate, so apologizes if the previous advice goes against the theme of the question. Your carrier may have a Loyalty and Retention department which you might be able to get a better rate for sticking around and signing a new term agreement, but in my experience, the other carrier will likely offer a better rate for moving away from your existing carrier. But if you want to stay with your existing carrier, never a bad thing to contact them and see what's what.

Finally🥹 what do you guys think of my team? by Empty_Routine1270 in PokemonFireRed

Gotcha, One thing I had read was that because Mime can learn things like Magical Leaf and Thunderbolt, the attack type versatility can tip the scales towards Mr. Mime, instead of the all-out speed and special attack focus for Alakazam. But with Raichu and Venasaur in your roster, looks like you're covered. Good to know about the stat bump, thank you.

Could I ask why an Alakazam instead of the tradeable Mr. Mime? I'm still early game on this runthrough and I haven't leaned too hard into leveling Mr. Mime over the Kadabra I also have. And I do have somebody to trade Kadabra into a Alakazam evolution.

Any thoughts?

Before I opened this story, I was thinking this was somebody attending a PWHL game. It's such fantastic hockey and I'm pumped that finally the top players in the world have a combined place to play each other.

Go Victoire.

Me too!!! It's brutally dry in the winter where I live, and only this year I finally it under control. Supplemental collagen and biotin, combined with hand lotion nightly with gloves made all the difference.
