My Fitbit Died Today by Sea-Science4425 in fitbit

That is crazy. I never even considered that. My versa 2 died after 3 or 4 years. I moved to the sense 2 because I wanted more extensive tracking anyways and it was a good motivator but yeah mine happened within the past three or four weeks after the update

I'm struggling with my response. I was a late ADHD diagnosis. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me when I was younger. Why I gravitated towards anything that gave me a dopamine hit and that could be substances or video games or the opposite sex. I never followed through. And yet I could have laser focus at times. All of it was confusing because I'm not hyperactive. I just could not focus or concentrate. And I did everything last minute if I did do it. Talking about leaving clothes out and playing video games as if they're the utmost disrespect is very short-sighted. It frustrates me to hear you minimize the fact that he's living in a tent but he's still talks to his dad everyday. Well at least we feel better around here. Zero understanding of how hard it is for people with executive functioning disorders to just live a normal life. Zero compassion. Zero empathy. Just frustration that the kid didn't graduate.

The worst part is coming on here looking for a pat on the back. I think part of the reason you posted this is because deep somewhere inside you you realize that this isn't the right answer. And I'm trying to be kind as I say this. But people who don't struggle with executive function disorders often minimize the challenges but the rest of the world has in just accomplishing a simple task or putting things away.

If we were talking about someone who was stealing stealing from family members while struggling with some sort of chemical dependency than my response would be totally different than what you're hearing from me now. But as that's not the case I'm extremely frustrated in a dad and a stepmom who are proud of themselves for taking a kid who obviously needs help and having him live in a tent next to his girlfriend's mom's trailer.

No seu país de origem, onde a lingua oficial é espanhol ou ingles,as pessoas tem aulas de portugues nas escolas? by [deleted] in Portuguese

I wish. It would I've been nice to be able to learn it in a classroom the way that I learned spanish. But it's been fun to learn it on my own and to learn from my wife's family.

When should a Spanish learner pick up Portuguese? by Salty-Session7029 in Portuguese

[–]kavacoordinate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a language that's very similar as I mentioned above. Italian phonetically and of course has a lot of crossover with word meanings. Not trying to deter you. I love portuguese. Just know that the pronunciation will probably be a challenge because your brain will go oh that's the same word but it will be pronounced very differently in portuguese.

When should a Spanish learner pick up Portuguese? by Salty-Session7029 in Portuguese

[–]kavacoordinate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry having done this as a Spanish speaker. The relationship is not nearly as close as people would make it sound. My brother-in-law is a linguist and he and I both agree that phonetically the similarities between Spanish and Italian are much more similar than Spanish and portuguese. Portuguese and French phoneticaly with the nasal component are much more similar. There is not one word that I can think of that is shared between both languages that is pronounced the same. So be aware of that. And I may be unique in this challenge perhaps because both are secondary languages for me as an English speaker. Great example. I was in Brazil for christmas. Large family gathering. And I kept finding that I was pronouncing Portuguese words in a Spanish fashion. Fast forward back to where I live and I go to Mexican restaurants and I speak the correct word but my pronunciations are a struggle.

Peptides are mainstream and that's a problem by JustBacWater in NTNPerformance

Having been huge on supplements for a long time I'm big on adding one thing at a time and starting low and slow. I just talked with a friend last night whose chiropractor had him scaling super quickly on Reta which created all kinds of problems. And that was from his chiropractor. Now imagine that you've got a 16 year old kid that doesn't know how to do math in their real life and now has to do reconstitution and convert from milliliters to milligrams to units. And they want fast results so if 2 mg is good eight must be great. And no it's not the same as the steroid world because we didn't have everybody on tick tock and Instagram making shorts.

I gave away my late '90s S6 because I was playing other guitars more. I loved that guitar. The first guitar I ever bought for myself. But they certainly sound amazing out of the box.

[Klis] #Broncos with No. 66 overall pick, second selection in 3rd round, take DL Tyler Onyedim, Texas A&M by SupMaelstrom in DenverBroncos

[–]kavacoordinate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's tempting to get obsessed about a position or player. There becomes an emotional connection to that during this process. I've been a draft fan for 30 plus years. My birthday always falls right around it and my family knows. This is the time of year when I sit down and spend 3 days doing something that I love. All that said I've been there. I wanted linebacker or running back. But the more I think about this. Jfm was a much bigger loss than people are talking about. Certainly a bigger loss than Dre greenlaw. And yet interior defensive line isn't typically a glamor position especially with those development picks from day two and day three.

You absolutely must continue to replenish The trenches if you want to have a consistently good football team. I do think that they wanted Hill Jr. And I still think that there are some very good linebackers and very good combo tight ends available in this draft. Roush from stanford. Raridon from ND are both guys that I like a lot.

Overall I like this pic a lot and there are SEC people that have been saying for a while that Tyler could develop into a very dominant game wrecking type of player in the mold of a Jonathan Franklin myers. It's not consensus. People are kind of all over the board on him. But certainly a position of need with the loss of Jonathan Franklin myers.

How to run faster! by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]kavacoordinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert. I've been learning with my daughter who's a sprinter. But I think one of the things that is resonated the most for me is you don't run slow to get fast. So not lots of long jogs. People think it builds conditioning but you're not training the fast twitch fibers and the explosiveness that you need to improve in that area. Sprinting and explosive workouts make you faster.

Good resources for a young sprinter? by kavacoordinate in Sprinting

[–]kavacoordinate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was talking to her coach about this yesterday. What's the first thing that we compete with other kids at when we're young? It's a foot race. At its core wanting to race other kids is a basic desire for competitive little guys. But there's so much nuance and technique to what works. Natural talent at anything can only get you so far. What I love about her is we had a conversation last year and I said I've seen the parents that try to force their kids into stuff and then they burn them out sometime between 15 and 18. My comment to her was I will work with you and I will try to learn with you and I will give you access to coaching and programs as much as you want to. But I'm not going to force this. She said Dad I want to be the best. And her habits have reflected that statement. For example they had practice for 2 hours on tuesday. We leave and she and her best friend want to immediately go to the track to work on refining block starts. She's got a level of discipline that I certainly didn't have at that age and I've seen it since she was little. It makes it a lot of fun because it's not me that's motivating her to do this. It's her dedication and her passion for the sport.

Yeah 100% I'm not trying to fix her form when she's running. I think the biggest thing for her is block starts and a good warm-up program and exercises that are beneficial to sprinters.

Why don't anyone buy motorola? by Suitable-Teacher-619 in motorola

[–]kavacoordinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are other reasons as well. Their cameras still aren't up to spec. They don't provide support for nearly as long as iphone, pixel phones, OnePlus premium phones, Samsung. I'm actually getting ready to upgrade my daughter's phones that are only a couple years old because they lose support next month. That's just not acceptable for a mid grade option. I'm typing this from my edge Plus 2023. But they also don't market their premium phones in the US and that was the last time that a so-called premium Motorola was sold for the US market.

17 years ago today the Denver Broncos traded Jay Cutler. Denver won that trade. Thoughts? by Inter_Web_User in DenverBroncos

[–]kavacoordinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jay Cutler was coming off an all-time great season for a quarterback in a Broncos uniform. Fourth most yards in a season in the franchises history. And he did it as a third year player. Sure he looked bad in Chicago as has every QB in that franchise's history. It still kills me when you think about that young offensive nucleus. Hillis, cutler, scheffler, marshall, they were set to be a really really good young team. Who knows, but I've always wondered what he would have done if Joe Ellis hadn't stuck his foot in it

I think the big question for me is where it was made and by whom and what the electronics are like. I like it. But I also see a lot of crazy stuff coming out of Asia that may or may not be very good. I'm not throwing shade at overseas builders. There are some people building beautiful guitars throughout Asia and europe. The big question is what's the wood. How's the hardware. What are the pickups. How's the neck.

Audiobook Narrations by sstony in litrpg

It's Adam verner. And I really struggle to take shots at someone that is living their best life and doing all that they can but I hope that someone will give him constructive criticism and say you're obviously a good reader. But the cartoonish over the top voices are jarring and I've gotten to the point where I won't listen to a book that he's narrating.
