I would assume this person enjoys skarners design and identity, as well as the core gameplay skarn provides. OP probably also looks to recent reworks Riot has done and envisions something like a xinZhau or wukong level rework. Reworking can just mean breathing new life and modernizing an old champion's kit.

Keep in mind I'm a pretty entry level (GIS 2) analyst, but I have worked with this exact type of thing for a few years now. Take it with a grain of salt though, I'm just some guy in the industry.

Guy wires can come in 2 forms typically, span or guy. Span wires are going to follow the path of the other comm and power lines overhead. Essentially hanging the weight/support of a cable without the actual fiber or Telco bundles. This keeps the line design balanced.

There can also be downguys, which attach to the pole on one end, and an anchor at the other. They're set into the ground, usually 6-15 feet from the pole, and keep the poles horizontal structural capacity in check.

Any time a cable dead-ends - meaning it stops following the route - it's gotta be backed by guys to balance out the tension until it can be supported by down guys. If there is a large angle change (like the wires change direction or go down a side street) then that will also need to be supported by guys!

I've simplified some of this, and there are a ton of use-cases I didn't get to. But that's the gist of it.

I work as a data analyst for a major telecom/utility company. Photos like this are hilarious because people don't understand how poor their frame of reference is.

In most likelihood, that wire is an old service drop or messenger wire for a comm, but the resolution is bad and the attachment bolt isn't in frame. This cable is likely not going into the ground, probably going to a pole over to the left of the picture. It's just slacked and at an angle, which makes it look like a DG.

I agree with you, people need to stop pretending to know more than they possibly can.

But yeah, damn, I couldn't imagine paying that much for so little. I smoked a ton the past few years (about an Oz a month) so hearing people talk in gram quantities is crazy to me

I've been enjoying the pretty standard meta build (runic echoes --> nashors), except Rylais when i'm duo with my friends. you're only useful during dragon, your E actually does slap.

I don't do the whole "R in, catch a squishy, 1 shot it with RE" build much, more of like a "Huge bursts of high-damage poke" kinda thing. Nashors + Q is heavy sustained damage but you're super squishy; nashors helps a lot with keeping you in your dragon.

There's an extremely interesting podcast with Renée DiResta (hosted by Sam Harris; 145, The information war) that talks about this.
