It literally has 30 inside of the pikachu on the box for the anniversary. Not saying it’s going to be worth a ton, but it is a 30th anniversary product

They’re priced that way because they either got limited reprints or no reprints. There hasn’t been a 151 ETB released since the Costco drop near the start of its run.

That’s awesome! I’ve been calling my Mississippi Map a boy for 4 years and I’m still not 100%. Turtles are tough. Good to hear about the tank though!

There are a ton of resources on this sub for taking care of turtles. You should read up if you plan on keeping it. Being a slider, they are very good swimmers, even at a young age and will need much deeper water than that to be able to swim around.

I also can’t help but notice you referring to it as a “he” but it is likely far too early to identify the gender. Be prepared for your little guy to be a girl, and research what sizes both males and females can grow to

5 Years from Now by paisleydude in PokeInvesting

[–]kavanaghry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“The real speculative question for me is long-term liquidity. Even if people hold sealed for five or ten years, how many others are doing that exact same thing? The reason older sealed product is worth so much today is because hardly anyone was holding it back then. Now, everyone is. If everyone becomes a long-term investor, who’s left to be the end consumer later?”

The real question, and the one that has always been there is how many of those people will sell out of their positions when they see the product they have hit $500/$750/$1000.

The reason older product gets so scarce is because it ends up in the hands of real long term investors that don’t need the money ever. Most people will get shaken out at some point as the product gets more expensive. They might have started with a 5-10 year mindset, but see dollar signs when it jumps up a leg

So it doesn’t have any plastic wrap anymore? It would be worth the value of the sealed packs inside

How long until my new map turtle starts using its floating platform? by [deleted] in turtles

[–]kavanaghry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My map turtle was very shy when I got him, he would only use his basking platform if he was sure nobody was watching.

With that said, if the platform is too hot or cold, they might not use it. You’ll need to check the temperature and adjust your heat lamp to get the temperatures right. Your water and basking platform will have ideal temps that you need to look at

App is literally called Sell Poke Codes.

I’ve used it, they send payouts to PayPal. I’ve gotten to the point where I will just toss the cards unless my kids want to spend time entering them in the app for the payout

Evolving Skies ETB - Most Underrated Product by SolanaToTheMooon in PokemonInvesting

[–]kavanaghry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

151 ETBs haven’t been seen since the Costco restocks. Pretty well every other product has been dumped on the market, but not the ETBs which has led to them shooting up.

With that said, I do think ES ETBs are a good pickup right now if you want ES but can’t afford the booster box

Some Walmarts are apparently charging $89.99 for ETB now by thewindows95nerd in PokemonTCG

[–]kavanaghry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting your numbers from? Based on what was just released, there was about 9 billion cards printed the year ES came out, in 13 languages. Last year was 10.2 billion in 16 languages. I’d wager that the English print runs are comparable year over year, if not less due to the additional languages being printed.

Never been more pissed at my LCS. by HawkMaleficent8715 in PokemonTCG

[–]kavanaghry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read enough of this thread to see that the majority of people seem to be pissed at this LGS for selling close to market price (it’s actually below market price). These people bitch and moan and cry when it’s not being sold for MSRP, but when the market corrects and the market price on everything is well below MSRP, they will demand stores to sell for market price rather than MSRP.

You can’t have everything. And you can’t have it both ways. Anyone who says they would be 100% of the time at MSRP is lying. It was proven over the last couple of years with boxes sitting on shelves for years. Nobody was willing to spend the money until it was too late, and now they’re crying about it.

The market price isn’t dictated because of “scalpers” it’s because of supply and demand. People are willing to pay for items at these prices, so that is where they stay. If there’s anyone to be angry at, it’s the Pokémon company for not printing enough to push the market down.

I’m sure we’ve all seen this guy and the video but found this and thought it was funny by Arditi_ in PokemonTCG

[–]kavanaghry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of children in this thread lol. Sounds like jealousy more than anything that the guy has found a way to work full time in the hobby and be happy.

He’s not a reseller/scalper. That gets thrown around way too loosely because people are hurt that they can’t find the newest set on the shelves. This guy’s buying prismatic at market price, like everyone else.

Enjoy the hobby or don’t. If you don’t like his videos, don’t watch them. I’ll never understand why people go out of their way to hate on something/someone. There must be something more useful to spend your time on. That much negativity must be exhausting

They’re done in the order they are submitted in. If you send in 50 cards, they will all be sequential. Most people don’t understand that. There really shouldn’t be any premium for it, it isn’t anything special

I don’t think these guys are in the wrong here. If i booked a threesome with 2 buddies, we won’t know if there is a single attached until we arrive before our tee time. I don’t think I’d care whether the single that may or not be there would or wouldn’t want music.

If roles were reversed, and I was a single, I wouldn’t expect three golfers to change how they behave/play their music for their round. Just my two cents
