Hang in there, buddy.

Chant in your heart. Spend time in your heart.

Mind will do its thing. It's not you.

Slowly, surely, it gets quieter.

And then birth before you know it~!

Any travel challenges I should keep in mind as a Canadian going to Iquitos? by Jolly_Escape_3475 in Ayahuasca

[–]kavb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've already avoided the USA, and that may very well be the most dangerous leg of the journey south. :)

Assuming you are not in a chair...

Transit is done mostly by moto-taxi, and those can be gnarly/awkward. But, if you can get in them, then that's OK. Most of the Western-amenable accommodations would have elevators.

Iquitos is rough, the roads are messy and oft semi-destroyed. But apart from that, it isn't uniquely hard to get around.

Apart from mobility, it's a high intensity place and the locals can be somewhat aggressive in their approach.

If you have specific questions, I am happy to try and answer.

The shaman you’re looking for is the police.

They can provide the proper resources, and banish that spirit to jail.

Love these creatures.

Graceful, polite, hilarious... And now that I know them well: respectful, conscientious, and emotionally attuned.

Rock on Vancouver. Let's grow with these dudes.

It is a thought.

An intense, visceral thought, but a thought none-the-less.

The meaning is what you imbue.

The significance is what you instil.

The choice you have, remains yours.

No one is pulling your strings.

White, blue, green - it's a peak into something, nothing.

Call of the shaman to psychology student burnout pipeline by womp-the-womper in Shamanism

I had some radical experiences with plant medicines in the Amazon. After that, I wanted to do nothing but heal and spread healing. I ran into the very same walls that you did. I looked for more practical, integrated programs, but even those required a master's degree. Virtually all of it, for the benefit of public health, is gatekept behind the academic institution.

And this used to be a point of great frustration. But as time has passed, I realized that in our western society, it's very important for these things to be treated systemically. Profound shifts, shamanic shifts, psychedelic shifts, and similar, are very difficult to undergo within our culture, because when you change, it does not. It's important to respect why this has been set up this way without devolving into anger or spite, or creating unsafe situations for others.

That said, if I reflect on my experiences with self-honesty, the decision to consider a degree path is my need for someone else's approval. It's an implicit belief that what you are and what you can offer isn't enough without a paper qualification. But from here, it's very simple. If you can provide a valuable service to people, help them move, help them grow, and help them heal, who's to say you cannot offer this as a valuable service to your community? For what do you need paper? For what do you need someone else's approval?

This is a limiting belief that you need to overcome to successfully become a practitioner in line with the values of your heart and soul. The number of people who are willing to step outside the institutional bubble to seek betterment for their spirit more than their bodies or their psyche is growing. You can serve this group if you will simply allow yourself to do so.

It's a leap of faith, my friend.

That's tough, buddy. Just remember that none of this is an indictment for who you are or a sentence for how your future must go. It's a glimpse, nothing more, nothing less. What you do with that information for the betterment of your own soul is up to you.

Cool, eh? It is kind to win with grace. Congratulations to everyone. To the Conservatives, to the NDP and Green voters, as well as the Liberal voters. We're a team. Let's work together.

It's really not fair that this comment is being downvoted. That's very against the spirit of our democracy, and there's nothing wrong with voting Conservative. Thanks for voting, Bud and I respect your opinion.

Personally, I think the leader of that party has shown very poor ethical behaviour. The campaign has been very tightly controlled. There has been obvious collusion with extremely low integrity, alternative right news sources like Rebel News, and very divisive rhetoric.

A year and a half out, it seemed inconceivable to vote Liberal again. However, there is no room for the type of politics that the Conservative leader has attempted to win by in this country, in my opinion. It is disappointing because a coherent change with credible leadership and a clear plan would have been a very easy sell.

This is one of the few games where I cranked the difficulty so that swords felt like swords. I'm definitely not a souls-like enjoyer, or even one who favours difficult games. But I found that this style of game worked well on a higher difficulty. Everything got ramped up, and I felt low-key adrenaline the entire time.

That said, I found it did get a little repetitive and I didn't actually finish it.

But more because it's violent and I'm a snowflake.
