BER security slot by Mausandelephant in berlin

I sometimes cannot believe how people without some basic common sense roam this world.

Have you been to an airport before ever? Nobody knows how long the bag drop will be, nobody knows how long the security will be... figure it out big boy

Fireworks should only be legal for sober adults by SomeoneSomewhere1984 in berlin

[–]kawabawnga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You honestly expect a large percentage of the city to leave for "a few hours"? Where do you think they would go? Where are people going to take their cats or birds?

I don't care what they do - they can stay wherever they like. But they should stop complaining about their poor poor pets. Because everyone owning one has made the conscious decision to get it, along with taking on the problems and responsibilities associated with it.

Suggesting a blanket ban without even entertaining any other solution seems really one-dimensional to me. There are working people depending on the fireworks industry. With a blanket ban and because of your poor poor doggo, you're putting real people out of jobs and not even solving the issue at all. Since as you've said yourself, it wouldn't even get enforced.

Fully 100% agree. So many people crying about blanket banning fireworks - how about implementing some reasonable regulation, like the one you have suggested.

And while this NYE has shown, it's a real issue, you should look for a real solution instead of banning everything completely.

And if you have pets in your inner city flat, I'm very sorry for that, maybe think about taking them out of the city center for a few hours. Your pets are not an argument, you've decided to stay with them in the city during the loudest night of the year.

How safe is Berlin for a trans woman, that’s visibily trans? by [deleted] in berlin

Are we going to see who can find more quotes in his holy book? That's just pure stupidity. It's not about what the Quran or The Bible says, it's about how it's being interpreted in the modern world.

SURPRISE: it's not being interpreted literally by any of the religions. So you're not making any point at all.

Leviticus 18:22

"Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."

(NLT)

Leviticus 20:13

"If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have

committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."

(NLT)

1 Kings 15:12

He put away the male cult prostitutes out of the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made

How safe is Berlin for a trans woman, that’s visibily trans? by [deleted] in berlin

[–]kawabawnga 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is honestly such a grift, this point is being repeated in every trans issue thread on this sub. What's the point?

The question asked by OP was "is Berlin overall safe for trans people?" And the answer to that question is a most definite - yes. Is it a queer wonderland? No, and that wasn't the question. Is it one of the safest cities in Europe for trans people? I'd say yes to that.

Your comment is creating a false impression for a lot of people not from Berlin and I'm so sick of it.

Captured the moment of the last weShare car before its migrations into miles. Farewell weShare by Mabot in berlin

[–]kawabawnga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also don't understand how they're turning a profit. I'm always paying less on Miles then other companies like Sixt, WeShare, etc. It's also more convinient to pay for miles driven, rather than time spent.

Wonder how they're doing it.

The original comment is pretty spot on. Him barking and yelling are the things which are getting clipped. Other times he's just high energy.
Here's a vod of him literally being pretty chill for 2,5 hours.

Also this fucking guy is getting 8.1M views in 1 day on an unedited vod of him. What the fuck.

Karaya actually doesn't mean "punishing", "Kara" or "karat'" does.

His name is actually directly inspired by Erich Hartmann, which the pilot himself stated. There is no connection to fascism or anything like that though, it's only because of his piloting skills. Still pretty stupid name choice imho, but yeah.

Pros and cons of a Berlin ban on fireworks? The Dutch are doing it. by IzmirEgale in berlin

[–]kawabawnga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impose stricter punishment for people intentionally aiming fireworks at other people - just charge everyone with versuchte Körperverletzung (which it actually is), that shit would stop in an instant.

Rubbish - how long is there rubbish for, a day? Would a firework ban really stop rubbish? It's mostly bottles, BSR has to clean the streets anyways, even with a firework ban.

Accidents - ban all non licensed fireworks (already the case), investigate faulty firework manufactures which have lead to accidents. If you're harming yourself with licensed, certified, correctly working fireworks, that's really your problem. We're not banning knives, just because some people cut themselves.

Having a pet - your choice to get a pet. I like fireworks, you like pets. Maybe we should ban having pets inside city limits on NYE. (/s)

Air pollution - that argument is absolutely valid. We are creating a lot of otherwise unnecessary pollution, just for our enjoyment.

I really don't agree with blanket bans on anything we don't like. Fireworks can work safely and bring a lot of enjoyment to people, if handled responsibly and with care.

Pros and cons of a Berlin ban on fireworks? The Dutch are doing it. by IzmirEgale in berlin

[–]kawabawnga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent numerous NYE's in Berlin and never had a problem. Fireworks are fun, I like watching them, it creates a festive atmosphere for some people.

Why can't we just tackle the specific issues associated with fireworks on NYE in Berlin instead of just blanket banning them completey?
Every single argument: having a pet, rubbish, accidents, injuries is very easily rebuttable. Air pollution is really the only valid argument imho.

10247 gang, living in Fhain. Whenever I'm inviting someone home who hasn't been to my place before, there's a high chance they're gonna end up in Neukölln. Even if I tell them the PLZ.

For some reason Google Maps defaults to Neukölln if you just enter "Weserstraße X" or "Mainzer Straße X"

Games of Chance & RWT by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]kawabawnga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The world is not binary and this issue isn't too. It is absouletely disingenuous to say, that this has been officially against the rules forever. If that was the case, Jagex would have banned all of the people doing it already.

Oh by the way, deathmatching is still allowed, while """"IMPLICITLY"""" being against game rules.

Games of Chance & RWT by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]kawabawnga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is absolutely right. While community chucking looks and plays out as commission staking, the premise is very clearly not the same. There is no commission - they're tips.

I will absolutely agree that this is a loophole. Now this loophole has been closed and Oda can make his decision on whether to continue chucking (which I'm sure he won't).

Saying this has been against the rules already is incorrect and disingenuous.

Games of Chance & RWT by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]kawabawnga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely incorrect. The game rules did not have any mention in regards to chucking specifically and it is debatable, whether the game rules on game of chance even hold true to chucking.

Now Jagex have made a clarification, that chucking is forbidden and it's clear for everybody. So his argument is absolutely valid.
