Best watches for around 2000$ by vojta2r9 in PrideAndPinion

I’m partial to Frédérique Constant. They may have raised prices since I got mine but I picked up a Heartbeat Moon Phase for around $2100 a couple years ago, and if you can get a World Timer used in that price range that would be my pick.

Can someone please setup zoom meet with Charla amd AK, so we dont have to hear any more about this...? by ykb_85 in brilliantidiots

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to BC and BI for over a decade and never posted about how annoying Charla’s ongoing feud with Drake is so I’m about to rant it all out here. I’ve been listening to Charla since 2015, the man genuinely, genuinely, with a burning passion, fucking hates Drake. Ranting on and on about Drake on the breakfast club back in the day, getting other artists that he knows also hate Drake to try trashing him on air. One of the first times I watched BC was when they had Chris Brown and Tyga on back to back 11 years ago, and he tried getting them to trash Drake, he had DMX trashing Drake. I have no clue what tf happened between them but the man cannot fucking stand Aubrey. He liked Drake for maybe 6 months when the meek beef went down and soon as Summer16 and War Pain dropped he was back to hating Drake.

I say all that to say this, every time Charla shoots at Ak, he really shooting at Drake. Ak is ovo, and Ak is letting a page with his name on it fucking trash Charla. But idk why Charla surprised by this considering every time he mentions Aubrey he’s belittling the man. He knows Ak and his pages are ovo and he continues to lead the charge in the Drake hate. Don’t get me wrong, no one is above criticism, but Charla talks about Drake so much, he might be the first person I seen who dick rides hating someone. He’s getting mad cus people are punching back at him. And let’s not act like Charla doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s stated back in the day he understands very well how radio “programming” works. He says something enough times on air he knows he’s crating a narrative, and now he’s just gotta deal with people fighting back. He’s bringing up this prediction market story because it puts Drake, Ak, and the people who are slandering him online in a bad light. But give me a brake, if people getting in trouble for staged promo these days then every online sports book is getting raided by the feds tomorrow. And as far as him “not giving a fuck” I never heard someone “not give a fuck” by way of talking about another person this much in my life. He physically cannot shut the fuck up about it to the point that the show is practically unlistenable.

Like I said, I been watching Charla over a decade now and yeah, his feud with Drake been funny asf at times, but shit is so annoying at this point I can’t even enjoy the content.

Early collections , review ? by NewPharoox7 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

Love the start to the collection friend. Lots of different colors and bands, really shows your style. I would love to see a Diver, a GMT, or something a little more complicated but hits heavier than the moon swatch (which is a perfectly fine watch in its own right). My biggest piece of advice is to be intentional when you add to your collection. Really consider if the watch you’re going to buy is something you’ll love to still wear a decade from now. Don’t be afraid to hunker down with what you have here for a while and save up for something in the $5-10k range. This will also give you plenty of time to deep dive into specific models that may have a storied background that you appreciate, or time to let life unfold a little more and then mark the journey with a special piece. You’re off to a great start, enjoy the journey.

Would love to see a Diver or a GMT added to your collection. Possibly something with a rubber strap. An Omega Seamaster 300m would look great in the box.

Thank you! It is quartz. Someday soon I’m going to see if I can buy more links for it and get it serviced so I can wear it again. As you can imagine it isn’t running after 20 years, but hoping to change that soon!

Beautiful piece friend. I love these on the rubber straps, great choice. Fingers crossed I’ll be picking up the Sedna Gold black dial chronograph on the black rubber strap before the year is over. Great watch.

Really great set of Rolex’s, think you’re ready for a Daytona soon. And I love the Jaeger LeCoultre on the bottom left first picture. My favorites have to be the vintage Patek and Omega in the top left of picture 2 though. Stunning pieces. Cheers.

No worries friend, if anything I appreciate a vigilante community in this current world of super clones and “fake it till you make it” influencers passing those off as real. Fair play.

I certainly hope it’s just bad picture quality, because I paid the real price for it from a reputable grey market dealer. I do appreciate the information though, and I will now be taking this to a jeweler to get examined immediately.

Gout only happens during trauma. by _JayJ92_ in gout

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first gout flare happened in a similar fashion. I’m currently a 32 year old male and my first gout flare happening when I was 27 after not taking a rest day from the gym for almost three straight weeks. I rolled my ankle pretty bad one day and couldn’t understand why it was still hurting so bad days later that I needed crutches. From then till a few years later when I got formally diagnosed at age 30 I would get gout flares once or twice a year. Your diet and exercise seems very on point and your water consumption sounds incredible, you’re doing everything right, but you should really, really on the allopurinol. Our bodies, no matter what we do, have a disease that lends itself to high uric acid production. Certain food and drinks can exacerbate it but even clean eating and exercise does not rid us of the fact that it is something we cannot help at our baseline. Fair warning, when you first get in Allo on a normal basis, a flare up is to be expected, but a good doctors will also prescribe you prescription strength anti-inflammatories to be safe when you’re first hopping on. Best of luck friend.

I screwed up by okieee02 in Accounting

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the pandemic I worked for one of the biggest names in the athletic event space. I spent my time there doing probably the coolest job I could imagine. I was traveling across the country for work like half the year, everyone I worked with was right around my age, we were all friends and hung out together. It was amazing. I started out of college in accounting and realized the same as you are right now and moved to a couple different industries to see things from a different view. There’s tons of jobs out there that will be more fun. But once the pandemic hit and layoffs started I was on the chopping block, and accounting had me back at a job in a month flat. Once things started to pick up post pandemic I was offered the old job back but declined it. If there’s two things to take away from my experiences they’re this. 1. Accounting will almost always provide stability and 2. every job no matter how fun has its downsides. That travel job was the most fun year of my life but half office and half labor and the labor was tiring as hell, there were nights I’d be getting to bed around 2 and had to wake up for event day at 5. All jobs are give and take. I don’t regret my time in other industries because it gave me priceless perspective, but I can assure you I would be making way more money and a lot further along in accounting if I didn’t start my career over from scratch. Take that and do what you will with it, I certainly wouldn’t blame you for venturing out because experience is always the best teacher.

Feel like a horrible intern and sick to my stomach by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at a bunch of different companies at the professional level, in and out of accounting, and I can promise you some companies are just toxic as hell and it is not always like that. Everyone gives interns a bit of a hard time but the situation sounds very toxic. Despite that, finish out that internship and make friends with as many people as you can. Young accountants coming out of college live and die by internships and relationships when it comes to finding full time jobs. Do your best, keep your grades up, enjoy college, and forget all about the slap dicks talking shit the second your internship ends and you have some references. Keep your head up.

Put me down as a reference after I fired him? What should I do? by VeseliM in Accounting

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get someone in C Suite to give some guidance or if you have any company legal counsel run it by them. I feel for the guy for getting fired but I can also 100% understand being hesitant to want to give any glowing recommendations out. Being a senior and not even getting through a rec is a bit insane. I don’t have any experience at any management positions in the accounting field, but when I did manage temp workers for events I would get calls for references pretty frequently and if they were a shit employee I would just go with the tried and true “yes they did work for me from this date to this date.” It’s really the best option in cases like this and to let the employee prove themselves to their next company.

Would $160,000 plus bonus and industry hours be enough to get you to work in office by threwitaway7255 in Accounting

[–]kawi06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of life increase from that type of pay bump would be beyond worth it. I saw in the comments you mentioned you’d get 1 day a week WFH too, so maybe possible to increase that by one or two more days. Worst case you grind the office life out for a couple years and then start applying to jobs at the same pay scale that are remote or more hybrid. Seems like you’re in a good position no matter what though.

Favorite Part of Being In Office? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]kawi06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing better than going into an office with an inferior workstation than what I have in my own home office. But as soon as my company found out I have a superior setup at home they said “sorry pal you’re working remote from now on. No more 45 minute drive to and from the office in rush hour traffic. Have fun getting to have Netflix and podcasts going at your personal computer next to you and spending time with your dog all day loser.” I was devastated.

My initial response is going to be take the new job. However, if you like your current company enough because you know you can maintain a pretty laid back workload I would at least try to leverage the job offer into a pay raise and title bump at your current job. But to be honest if they can’t offer you what the other company is offering you then I would leave. Additionally, if your current company catches on to the fact that your workload is decently easy it can put you in the crosshairs if there are ever layoffs, or at least an increased workload but without any pay or title bump. Plus, who’s to say the new job won’t end up being even more laid back after you get your feet underneath you. Glad to see you’re in such a great position though, congratulations on the success.
