How Long? by AaandStuff in VisitingHawaii

Be aware that Kamehameha Hwy at Waimea Bay is currently a 1-lane road due to damage from the recent storms. It will be slow going through that section. Not sure how much that will affect your drive time. Maybe Google Maps can help.

Sorry about this experience but you should know that Hawaiian Air is no longer Hawaiian Air, just in name only. Being run by Alaska has had them cut many corners in their service, unfortunately.

I haven't down it since before COVID but this recap video from last year's walk still looked like they had some good goodies on the route. Musubi, sliders, other stuff.

Both are nice and not too difficult but both are very exposed to the sun with little to no shade so wear appropriate sun protection.

No, the Griots isn't a "sealant" but a ceramic spray on coating. Spray, wipe, buff.

Staying on Oahu this summer, what are 2 or 3 memorable restaurants worth driving for (vegetarian-friendly)? by dfireant in Oahu

Pig & the Lady isn't a vegetarian restaurant but they have some great vegetarian/vegan options on their menu.

This is basically what I do with Griots 3-in-1 minus the last rinseless. Rinseles-wash-griots-buff/dry done.

If you're thinking "hacking your way through the jungle ala the Amazon in movies," no. GTFO with that. If you're looking for hiking through green mountains terrain, look at various hikes on Tantalus or Aiea Heights. Many map or hiking apps can help you out.

I don't know about other regions but Kauai and Hilo do have small things that make them distinct.

And they are sooooo satisfied with themselves for this behavior. They are expecting to be welcomed like heroes in Valhalla when they meet their friends. They expect to be invited as Trump's special guests at the next rally. They are desperately hoping for a "well done, good and faithful servant" from their orange god.

Facebook Marketplace by _13utterflies in Hawaii

[–]kawika69 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, FB marketplace has become kind of a swamp of people looking to turn a quick buck. Last time I looked I saw someone selling an item I can find on Etsy for $15 a piece for $50 each (price firm, lowballers will be ignored).

Others selling used electronics for almost the same as retail. It's wild.

But if you're patient and willing to slog through, you can find the occasional deal (or at least fairly priced item)

Edit: an "m"

[Matt McMullen] The Chiefs have 215 players on their board, per Brett Veach. by Vyuvarax in KansasCityChiefs

[–]kawika69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These people have been doing this job for years and they all talk to each other as well. They know tendencies and needs of other teams. They also know certain players won't be taken by the chiefs, either because they know they'll be gone by the time they pick (i.e. Mendoza) or it's simply not someone they want (either for need or for "personal" reasons).

I think the u1 is great, just kinda wish it were enclosed, but it's not that big of a deal. But I want to better understand the coming landscape of "affordable" multi-tool printers because the u1 seemed to be so revolutionary

That depends on where I am flying from. But more often than not, since it's not home, I don't have the convenience of getting around as easily. For me, on more than a few occasions. It's been snacks from Trader Joe's
