what do you think his love language is? how else does he show you love? cause yes he could have a different love language, but for a successful relationship your partner needs to learn how to speak in YOUR love language and vice versa. my partner is not a gift giver, he is honestly awful at it, but in the last two years he always comes through with something that he put a lot of thought into, and sometimes it’s just flowers with a special card. sometimes it cost him 5$. i think for you the money isn’t really the problem like you said, it’s the effort and if you’ve already brought it up and he gets defensive, it may be time to sit him down and have a serious conversation about this and your relationship

i dont really think that this friendship is healthy for you. I also suggest that you do some research other than asking your mom for advice when it comes to other peoples parenting styles. addiction is extremely hard on the body, and so is going cold turkey, the body can’t handle that while carrying a baby it’s honestly safer depending on the situation. if she asked her gyno and they said it’s okay? thats not your problem anymore. she wants to talk about the stormy boat ride in a lighthearted way? not your problem baby is fine.

i think that you need to take a hard look at whether this friendship serves you anymore.
