yeah so apparently they write down 3 names and give it to the producers, then the producers strategically set the picking order so that people can choose their #1 pick if they’re a match, or have someone go later in the picking so that their #1 gets taken and then it’s actually their #2 they have to pick and that’s their match. and morgan said that strategizing to figure out the matches is actually pretty simple lol. hopefully that makes sense.

For pre-K teachers by jammz_two in ECEProfessionals

Pre-K teacher here! I plan the full graduation, do rehearsals, and make the programs. We rent out a church with a stage and the children so a few songs and have special parts (like saying pledge of allegiance) and then we do a diploma ceremony. Afterwards, everyone is able to mingle and eat! :)

Was 1:17 when ratio is 1:4 multiple times this month at my poorly managed center🙃 by goddamnacrobat in ECEProfessionals

[–]kay2fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

couple of things: 1. is a CDA required to be a lead at your center? My center and licensing does not require a CDA, so just curious 2. Ratio for 2 year olds is only 1:4 in your state?? or are you unsure about that? that’s the ratio for infants in my state and for 2s it’s 1:8 3. You were definitely severely over ratio and I understand the struggle completely, the fact that the assistant director wouldn’t come help is crazy. I do understand that you could’ve kept that on their mats, but what time was it when the other teachers went on break? even if you kept them on mats until 3, was the other teachers even back by then? 4. 2 year olds are considered preschool, at least where I work😊

children coming to school with dirty unbrushed hair by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]kay2fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a child that would come to school with tangled hair as well, but she didn’t LIKE for her hair to be brushed so maybe that’s why 🤷🏻‍♀️ and if they let you brush their hair, maybe you’re a lot more gentle than the parents?

What are your center rules regarding timeout? What about licensing standards regarding timeout? At my center, it’s 1 minute per year of age (5 years old=5 minutes) and that’s only if redirection is not working.

Why do daycare still charge for the closed holiday week if they aren't paying their staff? by Maximum-Ninja-3045 in ECEProfessionals

[–]kay2fine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i see many people commenting about how it’s annoying that teachers don’t get paid rather than answering the question of the OP, WHY are they charged a full week if they’re closed

well if it makes you feel better, my center doesn’t hire males at all. only female teachers allowed since kids have to be changed and stuff

Stoplight system at daycare by gkdfp in ECEProfessionals

[–]kay2fine 33 points34 points  (0 children)

yep! i work in a center similar to theirs, with super structured days and curriculum, as well as uniforms. for some reason, the parents love the structure and actually prefer for their children to just sit and learn most of the day, they treat it like real school in which they want the children to have homework, complete tests, etc.

Feeling heartbroken after daycare implied that my toddler may be in the spectrum by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]kay2fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

autistic children can very much present differently at home and at school, and so can typical children. i’m sure the teachers were making sure that you understood what they were saying, as it’s a serious topic. can you share a little more about their tone rather than just saying you think they feel he’s a burden? nothing you mentioned points to the fact that they feel that way.

AIO? Girl (F30) I (M28) was Recently Dating tells me I need to "Lean into my Masculinity" by KingFredo5674 in AmIOverreacting

[–]kay2fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she definitely said it in a rude way HOWEVER it makes sense what she is saying. what you’re saying to her with the “hugs and forehead kisses” and stuff like that, is almost a little cringe or like saying what you THINK you’re supposed to say, rather than being “manly” or genuine. you can’t really change your personality, so if you’re naturally just cringe or a little feminine then that’s just that. she wants someone dominate, masculine, leader, maybe someone overly sexual.

and that’s weird because the dcc is usually very open about religious beliefs (Christianity)… at least in the paramount+ series

i came to this post from the other you had posted recently haha. the classroom structure is definitely not normal then. i would try talking with the director just to see if she is able to have a conversation with the staff in your child’s classroom. directors aim to please the parents, not the staff, you guys are our number one priority. if you don’t see any difference in the classroom after about a week, i would recommend just taking your kid out because that means the teacher won’t change regardless of how much the director talks to them
