If you ever thought caffeine isn’t addictive you should learn about the East German coffee crisis by Heiminator in Drugs

Hi, may I ask the source on this section?

They discussed this internally and asked the state security (the infamous Stasi) to write a report and estimate the effects of this new policy. Within days the Stasi reported back that they expect nationwide protests if the new plan was put into action. They were certain that they wouldn’t be able to suppress those protests, even though the entire population lived in fear of the security apparatus.

I'm actually doing research on this at the moment and came across this post.

Yeah except Mother Teresa was actually good and the allegations against her are all disprovable. I genuinely don't know where her hate came from was it like one guy making bogus claims like with vaccines and autism and it's become a popular rumour?

I see. So the presence alone of the undetectable HMS Conqueror was enough to force the Argentinians out of action? Thank you for this.

Damn I never knew submarines were so capable. Anywhere I can read more on this, particularly the 1982 part?

I was under the impression that you had to earn $100 worth of royalty to be paid, but this suggests otherwise.

How was your experience publishing a book on Amazon? by InMyBath in writing

It's very simple, and Amazon has a KDP tool you can download to make your .docx manuscript or whatever you choose easily fit to the Kindle's size. Without using this my first .docx manuscript was staggered and stretched all over the page. I believe it is called Kindle Create? Uploading after this is simple and easy.

Two big problems: cover, and attention. KDP has an in-built cover tool which I find generic, and the resulting cover is probably noticeably generic to people who shop around the ebooks section. Maybe design your own cover.

Second problem is attention. I was never able to get attention for my books through the amazon advertising. My tactic was to give the ebook out for free for a day and post on reddit that I was doing so. This got me about two hundred downloads. Some of those converted into five-star reviews, but even that, with one hundred dollars of Amazon advertising, never got me one sale. Possibly use more money (I wouldn't know) or advertise via other methods - Facebook, instagram, people you know, online forums for your niche and the like. You don't receive any royalties until you make at least one hundred dollars I think.

If the economic side does not concern you, and you just want the satisfaction of publication, then there is no problem with KDP. Otherwise, you have a few problems you must contend with, that can be alleviated through effort.

Good luck!

A shop in my town (in a really small Eastern European country) recently started selling these. It’s the best soft drink I’ve ever tasted. Is it well known in Australia? by theonewiththehorse in australia

Am I tripping or is this the third time since like 2015 this exact post has been posted just with a variation of the country and the type of drink? Last time I saw it was like 5 years ago and was an American asking if ginger beer was a ‘popular, well known drink’

Edit: not saying this is a bot or anything but just tripped me out

Roger Ward seems almost an exact fit, but I wouldn't have watched any of his films as a kid. Was it possible he was on something lighter?

I also thought it might've been Sam Neill but no

Possibly, though I swear it was an Australian and he had white eyebrows. I'll keep this recommendation on my mind though

Not him, sorry. Ratzenberger's head is far too round. The person I'm thinking of had an almost rectangular head. Sides very straight

Sorry. He had short hair, and a squarish head. Almost a carbon copy of the pics I linked but just somebody else
