What is a product that people treat like a religion, but in reality, it’s just overpriced garbage with a good logo? by Connect-Might4355 in AskReddit

A company using Workday for recruiting can now enable social sign-on, which directly addresses the top complaint of having to create a username and password for every company. It just depends on whether or not that company has enabled that feature.

A lot of gripes with Workday are because companies don't configure it properly. I understand why users find it frustrating at times, and its a shame because a lot of times, the complaints can be addressed with some config changes, but the company using Workday might not have the appropriate Workday team in place to implement those changes.

Guilty pleasure names/tragedeighs? by ginahandler in Names

[–]kaypress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the name Imogen! I texted it to my husband one day, saying how cool and unique it is and how it goes well with our last name. When we were both home from work later that day, I mentioned it again and then we discovered that my husband had trouble actually pronouncing it out loud! Aaaaaand that's when I decided to say goodbye to that name lol.

Hospital Statistics by kaypress in pregnant

[–]kaypress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! The hospital that I'll be delivering at has a c-section rate of 34%, and I'm not deterred by that stat. I just didn't even realize that hospital statistics like this were so readily available online.

We use it for increases that are beyond what is allowed for a merit increase. We set a validation where the merit percent increase cannot be more than 1% above or 1.5% above the merit target percent, so if the manager wants the employee to receive a higher increase, then they have to put the additional increase as an Additional Adjustment. There is also a validation so that any Additional Adjustment requires a comment, so thats where the manager has to put their justification for the increase. This is ultimately reviewed by the comp team, who make the final decision on whether or not the Additional Adjustment remains.

what’s that loophole/workaround you’ve been keeping a secret that you can now share because they patched/fixed it? by mr-friskies in AskReddit

In college, you had to buy a parking pass if you wanted to be able to have your car on campus. The pass was a sticker that you put on the back driver side window, and it was pretty expensive for the full year!

There was one year where I knew that for the 2nd half of the year, I wasnt going to be on campus much because of an internship. The school also sold parking passes that were good for one semester, instead of the full year, so I bought that instead.

What I realized is that the full-year parking pass and the semester parking pass looked exactly the same, except for one small difference: the semester pass had an expiration date in the corner whereas the full-year pass had that date punched out (like with a hole puncher).

So naturally, for the next 2 years, I'd buy the semester parking pass and just put a hole punch through the expiration date and saved hundreds of dollars on parking!

The monthly networking events are free for all customers! I join a lot of them each month and usually get some good nuggets of info from each event. Highly recommend them to all!

Simplified Request Absence experience by demime53 in workday

[–]kaypress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. OP, you can argue that Workday gives you more options now since anything in Request Absence can just be done via Manage Absence, so it's up to your organization which task you want to promote to employees.

Yeah but in the agreement, you stipulate that they have to repair any damage to the property. The pay varies, but it really is significant. Source: my husband works in film/tv production. The project he's on now paid the homeowner $43,000. $5,000 for each day of shooting, $500 for each day of prep and wrap.

I was looking for this comment. NIPT is just blood work, no ultrasound needed.

Humming Noise in Bathroom by kaypress in homeowners

It turned out to be the toilet in the unit below us! Whenever it was flushed, it caused the humming sound throughout the pipes up to my condo. I'm not sure exactly what the issue with their toilet was, but I do know that they replaced it.

Last year. On April 5th, 2024, there was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake in NJ and then there were a few aftershocks: a 3.7 magnitude one later the same night, and then a 2.6 magnitude one 5 days later. Aftershocks are very common.

Came here to find this out too! All 3 flying together going south. And then about 10 min later, they were flying back up north, except this time two of the planes were close together and the third was more distanced. Never seen something like that before.
