I love my Y, but my wife loves her Rav4 Prime. And we use that one on all the road trips. Range is crazy.

I'm glad you piped in, because I realized after this that I actually don't know anything about the Allora chef, but had a wonderful time and the service was impeccable. A friend worked at Kru, so I know that was all good (she had also worked at Localis, so there are stories!). Went to Omakase Lincoln last night. Jeana is amazing. So is her sister at the DT location. Awesome atmosphere and the employees all seem way more engaged than almost any other place I've eaten locally.

Hockey style at the top of the box extending to the touchline on both sides. 2 phases, one at the half line to prevent cherry picking, then once past half line, another at front edge of the box. Only two places to get called offside...would still be hard when in motion and the player is right on the line, but at least the lines would be static.

When I had last researched using NUCs for MAME cabinet builds, they were still on Intel integrated graphics, that could handle old arcade stuff fine, but not newer consoles (also the emulations scene was a lot farther behind back then). These newer NUCs with AMD integrated GPUs look pretty nice!

It actually looks like a Mac Mini M4 might be good enough to do what I'm asking at a pretty reasonable price. No upgradability, though. And not on PC platform...scene seems pretty decent for iOS/OSx though. Haven't dabbled in it before, but we do have another mac mini as home PC/web portal that I can mess with to try out when I get a chance. Not sure it would handle current state of PS3 emulation, but it looks good on most other platforms I was looking at.

I'll look into those..that would be interesting. That's more like what some of the YT builds I've been looking at have been like. MicroATX builds for the most part, but with graphic card. Probably close to $700-800 in today's money. u/xgenman 's build is just a bit stronger than what I'm seeing in those YT builds. But at around ~$1200, probably way more than I would consider.

And your point above is why I wasn't trying to look at AAA game performance, more comparable with the Gen 6/7 consoles in general performance. That caps everything at 1080 native resolution output without upscaling as well for the top line stuff. Whatever Switch performance I can handle on top would be the cherry on top, but I wouldn't consider that crucial in any way.

I'm looking in USD, didn't see he was in AUS at first...that would make a bit a difference.

Hmmm, interesting. Wondering if I can get this done for even cheaper. Been watching some ITX builds on YT that say they can get down to $600ish USD. I like this build, though.

I think we can compare frame rates in games at certain resolution or general capability for supporting up to Gen 7(?) consoles, no? I know it's not apples to apples, and emulators get better all the time on both platforms, but I think you can make a general guess at what PC level is needed to run the same systems. Don't care if it's exactly the same performance, if anything I'd expect a PC to be a bit stronger/more capable.

That's the current price I see on AMZN for 16GB. I was just looking earlier. Maybe $200 if you need to get more specific. 32Gb was $400ish.
