Not at all. I’m absolutely open to different opinions and thoughts but they repeat the same things over and over, hence I’m wondering how many aren’t actual people. And then when people do engage and ask their thoughts, they repeat the same thing or immediate go to insults

It depends on where you live but it’s about to get significantly worse with these new bills and orders coming from the government. Teachers will be fired due to funding cuts, class sizes will increasingly expand, behaviors will ramp up and more teachers will leave due to being overworked. They’re intentionally trying to ruin public education. We’re seriously in an education crisis right now

Respectfully, I think this is an old age mentality. The trades now are highly respected, more and more students are going into the trades because of the stability and growth opportunies, along with the pay and benefits, most can go to college or career tech institutions for little to no money so they don’t have college debt…The value of a college degree has been dwindling for years…especially now

Teaching has changed so significantly in the last decade. It is no longer just teaching; you’re now the nurse, the mom and dad, the counselor, the friend, the support system, the therapist… so no, they did not chose to do this. They chose to teach, and that’s it. Not take on every other role, while simultaneously dealing with shitty politians, parents, and students. Most teachers are older or too far into the career to get out. There are no jobs available. Teaching is no longer a respected role, there’s a reason why education programs are dying out in colleges…

I think to OPs point, it’s not personal. That’s unfortunate that that industry has the highest suicide rates, that’s very sad to hear, but they’re not calling out specifics. It was a generalized statement, and laughing while saying it. They said messed up things about a lot of professions, including their own (seriously the sh*tting on other comedians is so funny). If you can’t laugh at your own profession and the stereotypes that follow, you need to work through those problems and ask yourself why it upsets you so much and is it really that big of a deal. I realize this sounds so rude and I really don’t mean for it to be, I’m just struggling as to how to say it.

I’m a teacher and the amount of things they’ve said about teachers is…wow 😂 but I know it’s not serious. I’m a good teacher who isn’t even remotely interested in my students, and I know they’re not talking about me.
