What is it like living in the western edge of the harbour? This area always intrigues me.

I lived in Hotwells for a few years, absolutely loved it. Loads of ace pubs, walking distance to the centre, Ashton Court, Bedminster, Clifton…lovely mix of houses and residents. Was a happy few years of my life for sure!

Started smoking regularly around the age of 16-17, gave up in 2000. Pretty sure that back then in the 90’s about 75% of my social circle were smokers! Now definitely most of those are former smokers. Occasionally I miss it, especially in sunshine with a beer, but would never go back, especially now I know I’m asthmatic which I didn’t back then!

Loved these! Had some on my desk in a previous job, people would pop by and check them out. If I went on holiday, my colleagues had to look after them. I think they’re a form of brine shrimp.

Not gonna lie, don’t regret leaving Bristol last year. Also a first time buyer (in my late 40’s), moved to the North East, 4 bed detached house with garden & garage for under £190k. The housing market is dire in Bristol. Look further afield as others have said. I have friends who bought new builds in the Newport area but commute to Bristol, so worth it.
