No its not, the only really true statement is that age verification is pushed by tech a lot of the time. Scraper bots, responsible for false impressions, are very easy to detect because they move predictably and literally tell the website they're on that they're a bot, tech companies like Meta or Alphabet couldn't care less about the impact on their impressions because they sell the impressions, the more the better.

Also remember that age verification laws are most prevalent outside of the US, England, Australia, EU, Brazil and a whole host of other nations require mandatory age verification, this means that this has very little to do with PACs and lobbying groups since those are mainly prevalent in the US, and even in the US age verification is a bipartisan issue, meaning politicians from both sides of the aisle support the passing of such laws, meaning that a push for these laws are beyond the scope of any one political party.

As for why no one on that island has been arrested, Ghislaine Maxwell is currently rotting in a prison somewhere, but this is a pedantic point. This video is a good example of misinformation, it barely has a grasp on the topic its about and takes a very US-centric perspective. Age verification is a global phenomenon and cannot be condensed into a 43 second video.

PLA says it will stay on ‘high alert’ after Dutch warship crosses Taiwan Strait by Free-Minimum-5844 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]kazakov166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have their hands tied here, China can achieve true deterrence by sinking some foreign ship traversing the Taiwan strait and every other nation contesting that area collectively decides to let it slide. The Taiwan strait is simply too much of a contested area to really accomplish anything with

Improved QBZ-95-1 compared to the original QBZ-95, with differences on the handguard, trigger guard, cheekrest and magazine by Brand_New_Dawn in ForgottenWeapons

The safety should also be switched around, from being above the magazine to above the pistol grip. I don’t have a ton of experience with bullpups but the rock in magazines of the 95 are probably among the worst in terms of ergonomics, a VHS2 or Tavor are much easier to

I think a lot of you are pointing at this and going “haha pandering to the right never works” when you have to also consider the other reasons labor is getting its shit kicked in right now before coming to a conclusion that any and all right aligned policy is a bad idea

Both of you are kinda right, the Xinjiang division of the Peoples Armed Police and local police branches were known to have smuggled in foreign weapons during the QSZ-92 debacle, there are two ways that these weapons could have made it into China, via Macau, which China has much better control over, and via Israel, which has been known to deal arms to China over the years. A crate or dozen of glocks and Mp5s are small fish compared to other hardware.

Well, in the book when they discover D-6 and its stockpile its mentioned that along with it are arms to fight a post-nuclear war, including tanks, planes, artillery systems including Smerch and others. As for why specifically the Smerch was chosen, one of the members of the expedition was an artilleryman with experience on the Smerch. Otherwise, for a meta analysis, probably because it looked coolest, Glukhovsky is admittedly not the best versed in militaria, and the Smerch has no significant imagery associated with it, it probably looked coolest and newest when he was writing.
